so this guy i know is going to attempt the centure with STRONG 8% beer. he seems to be a hard drinker but i dont know if he would make all 100 shots down. rules are no puking and it has to be a shot, and we are taking bets if he can do it or not.. have you ever done it?

Should be little to no problem with beer. Tequila, however, would be suicide.

I finally did it a while back but it was like my 9th attempt, and it was one of the worst hangovers I have ever had.

it is much harder then anyone thinks it is.

i usually am too hammered by 80 minutes or so.

the first 20 minutes...its no problem..you are laughing at how easy it will be..lots of time to pour your shot of beer before the minute is up

well around 60 minutes...you can barely get the beer in the shotglass..lol

I'm typing this with at least that in my system - screw that - I'll match him with Vodka.

Is the puking optional? I don't think it should count if you do 100 shots and puke them up. 100 shots should be around 100 ounces right? Which is less than 9 12oz beers.

1 shot = 1 oz.

60 minutes (60 shots)= 5 twelve oz. beers

100 shots = 1 hour 40 minutes to drink 11.8 beers

Tough but not impossible. I would actually like to try this.

Its having to do them every 60 secs that is the killer... not the quantity of beer.

If we could skull them a pint at a time easy as cheese, but don't knock the shot method till you have tried it. Its nasty :)

He should aim for an hour of beer first, and then go from there. That's a shot per minute for an hour... and a nice warm up - because, as Phoenix says, it's the last part that's a real bitch.

And there's no way he should do it with a strong beer - especially his first time... if so, he's gonna boot.

I've attempted to do it a couple of times in my youth, but only once successfully (and never again! :-P). I'm also 6' 2", and have weighed at least 180 lbs since I graduated High School.

A true shot is 1.5 ounces. Therefore, a true century = 150 ounces of beer in an hour and 40 minutes. That's a bit more than a half a case of beer in under the length of time of a decent movie.

One more bit of advice - stay in an area that's easily mopped up.

i've never tried it. but me and my friends have had drinking contests to see who could finish off 1 case of beer and 1 bottle of jack the quickest:winkwink:

I had no problem doing it a few years back... about 12 beers in just under 1 hour 40 min, but those of you who know me know I drink.... A LOT :)

No it's closer to 10 and when you pour the shot there's always foam so gas is a bit of an issue.

I know that in UK volumes, 20 fluid ounces is 1 pint. In American volumes it's 16 apparently. So 6.25 pints = 100 shots. And if you were smart, you'd pour jugs of beer and dip your shot into it to fill it up rather than individually filling up every shot. For one, you'd be drinking more and ensuring you actually did 100 shots worth of beer and secondly you wouldn't have to deal with the foam as much.

Fuck... 8% beer is fucking nasty. On a good day, I could maybe pull it off with Corona or something. Nothing stronger than 5%.

That's all it is? Shit, one day at an A's game I drank a 12-pack of Beck's in about an hour before we went into the stadium... I was FUCKED lol...

i drank a 750ml of hennessy in a little over an hour and a half once. don't remember shit from about 8pm until 4am that night. im not even about to admit what i did that night hahaha.
