my gf has a chapter in a book - great deal for the publisher - they ask 10 people to write chapters on a techincal subject, put it together and sell the result. The authors have to sign away any rights to the content.
I'm trying to get her to work on a book where she actually gets paid.

I've tried once, but after 25 pages I've quit.
It was a kinda sci-fi story about a guy who gets out of jail after 20 years.

I did an anthology of Blue Blood fiction which collectible copies of sell now for more than sixty bucks online. I did some gaming books as well. Haven't written the Great American Novel yet, though, damn it.

I'm in the process. I have the book written, have an agent and a publisher and am working with the editor from the publisher on the final rewrites. It's a lot of work, hopefully it will pay off.
