People in the adult industry with INSANE spam protection on their servers....
what are you thinking?
you work in the adult industry, but yet I can't get a email to you from the xxxis.net address I have NO spam filters on any server level, but it appears everyone else does I am actually going to have to change domains because everyone seems to think having spam protection on the server level is a good idea in the porn industry |
LOL.. I fucking hate it when i am trying to do business and email someone and their fucking spam protection kicks it back .. i get better access with my hotmail addy than my 5 company email .. ghey ....
|
Just goes to show the forethought put into most people's "businesses".

ok, here is the scenario that I can see
I have a client, call him Bob...he emails me that he wants work done...ok, great...I tell him to send me emails with all the info I need..he send 4-5 emails, so I respond to those 4-5 emails rather quickly here is what happens: email 1 goes through, he gets it email 2 and 3 get flagged cause they came in too quick and don't get delivered because I have xxx in the domain name...so, the spam protection is saying "shit, xxx in the email address and multiple emails VERY quickly, it MUST be spam"..... emails 4 and 5 aren't even considered to go through and now my email address is classified as spam |

Bob found out you love the cock and he's afraid you'll want a piece. |

Guys, we work in PORN, it makes sense that those with a clue are using PORN RELATED DOMAINS to email you with, perhaps you might want to make sure that email gets to you if you want the business to get done. Or do we all need happyhappyflowers.com email addresses to email for biz? |

just thought I would bump this
|
my spam filters are "insane" but they don't make decisions based
on the domain name. So what if I work in adult ? doesn't mean I have to waste my time filtering spam. |

I can't tell you the amount of people that have lost my business because they can't configure something as easy as a local spam filter (not directed at you, that was directed at the idiots that just installed the spam filters and let them be) spam filtering should be done on the local level in your email software, when it is done on the server level too much shit can go wrong, especially in the adult industry |

so your guarantee is void. I think your beef is with people that don't configure them correctly be it server level or local level. |
I use Thunderbird's junk filters... is accurate 99% of the time. So I still check for that elusive 1% that gets caught or sneaks through.
I'd never stop email at the server level because I'd never know what is and isn't being done with emails that I should be getting. |
