Yahoo! Corp - rot in hell

I read in today's Toronto Star about how Yahoo! provided the personal identity and information of a Yahoo! email account holder to the Chinese government, and now the guy's been sentenced to 10 years for simply sending out an anti-Chinese government email from within the country.

Nice disclosure job, Yahoo.

Fucking jackasses.

It was also nice to hear in the same story that the mother of the poor guy is now launching a massive lawsuit against Yahoo!

If there's any justice left in this world...she'll be successful at bending these pricks over and giving them what they deserve.

That's unfortunate if true. Money talks bullshit walks. I'm sure Yahoo was threatened by red behind closed doors.

When you commit a crime, you lose your right to hide behind privacy. Same goes for insider tips on yahoo finance forums.

Tis true I am sure as the Congress held hearings late last yr I belive with yahoo and google reps on this type of issue.

Basically Yahoo and others want a big biz / online presence in china and that is what is "the rope around there neck"

The congress was also bitching about tons of key words that the chinese made then take out or not reflect the correct sites when typing in such words as Freedom, Democracy, etc, etc you type those in google.cn or whatever and BS things would come up, not the same as the rest of the world would see.

I wonder what they would do if their parking meter maids were posting pics of cars they cited.

Were talking discussing freedom issues, Anti communist chatter, etc, etc.

While it might be a crime in china - us pro democracy countries don't support this crap at all.

I was fucking pissed at Cisco too, getting billions from the Chinese govt. to install new routers, switches, whatever to block out "offensive" words, porn, , sites, etc. but those offensive words, sites - alot of them are about democracy, freedoms, etc, etc.

Blocking that or trying to country wide....

Good that you pay attention.

Sad that you aren't able to rise above sophomoric, lowbrow attempts at humour.

Thanks for playing along, though. :1orglaugh

Yahoo is not going to give up their market share, though censored, in China for ANY amount of money or ANY amount of lives, American or otherwise. That place is the big internet boom (and then some) all over again for those who can capitalize on it.

A few months ago I was with Redshoe in Burbank, where the Yahoo corp offices are, and was trying to get a pic of me pissing on the building holding a GOOGLE RULES sign, but they had cams fucking EVERYWHERE.

Once again the USA throwing its dick around where it doesn't belong.

FACT: China is the next world super power and though it's still 15 or 20 years away (if that), it's coming and the USA will be sucking on yellow nuts after that. China is gonna be large and in charge. :2 cents:

If I had a kid, he/she would be learning both Mandarin and Cantonese from age 2, and Spanish on his off days. He's gonna need it by the time he grows up.

So why should a foreign company (Yahoo) expend resources to forcibly smarten up a bunch of people ? It's their country, they'll clean it up when they can't take the stench anymore.

Otherwise it's like making a law that you must preach the word of Jesus to everyone passing by.

Sounds just like Bush's justification for going into Iraq, doesn't it?

Pretty much, except if China's a rat, the US is a rather tasty soda cracker. Nobody this side wants to make any sudden brusque movements.
