How about Program's charging you for becoming a affiliate

Instead of making it Invitations only, what do you think about it costing maybe $100 to become a affiliate? that would keep people away that just flood the net with FHG

Violetta 06-12-2007 02:54 PM

yes, but small programs like mine, would have 0 affiliates

Nicky 06-12-2007 02:57 PM

Or why not just keep it invite only?

Kevin Marx 06-12-2007 03:00 PM

nice thought, except affiliates don't push one site.. they push many. Can't imagine they would want to be hooked to 50 sites and drop 5K for the privelege

Iron Fist 06-12-2007 03:02 PM

Nope.. wouldn't bother. Sounds like you want to do away with affiliates altogether. Good luck with that.

umm.....

Hello to the yahoo paid listing idea.
Goodbye to their number one spot as a search engine.

Charging affiliates would be the dumbest idea in history.
What idiot would sign up to a new program for a market test and pay
$100 to find out the sites don't convert for them?

Welcome to "please join us so you can lose a few weeks traffic and $100 out your pocket before you realize that we suck".

Then they can get revenge by copying your links to FHGs and replacing your reseller code with garbage and flooding the net with them anyway.

Panky 06-12-2007 03:35 PM

Webmasters are not going to pay a fee to test sites to see if their traffic converts and they can turn a profit when you have hundreds of other affiliate programs who are free to join.

weve dicsussed this a few times .... personally i dont have a problem with a sponsor charging for a "sales kit" for a new affliliate....once the affliliate made a few sales, he could be reimbursed for the cost of the kit...

And how would that work? So if I don't get an invite I'm shit out of luck with that sponsor. How does that sponsor know I won't bring in huge sales?
