badass car

Jim_Gunn 06-12-2007 08:28 AM

I wanted one of those when I was in high school, but they stopped making them the year I graduated! I am still driving a '96 Ram Air T/A now.

GITZINGER 06-12-2007 08:35 AM

why bother, I had one (not GNX) back in the early 90's, it was a fun car back then, but you can buy better handling, faster, more luxurious and tech'd out cars for less than half that price now-a-days.

Waste of money now IMHO.

djroof 06-12-2007 08:43 AM

damn is soooo cool!!!!

JayDeeZee 06-12-2007 09:16 AM

WOW!!!!!!!

I feel a tingle in my pants

Rochard 06-12-2007 09:27 AM

0-60 in 5.5 seconds. Fast, but not fast enough to beat my car.

When I was in high school we there was a girl named Cindy who had this car - brand new. She was a druggie with poor grades and everyone was pretty pissed that a "girl" had the fastest car in school.

bobby666 06-12-2007 10:05 AM

thats's more than impressive

..........

they're quicker than that....shit, back in the day C&D got the standard version GN to run a 4.6 to 60! That was damn quick for a 1986 GN then and is still quick now....

you're obviously not a car guy.

i would fucking kill someone for that gnx. i love those cars.

one of my buddies just picked up a half rebuilt grand national about 2 months ago. he is in the process of finishing the build now. the car is going to be sick when he is done with it. he is shooting for low 10's in the 1/4.

and in high school my programming teacher had one that made enough horsepower to stand up on the back wheels. needless to say i never did any work in that class. we would always just talk about his car. haha.

9 original miles. i mean jesus christ. that is amazing. i hope the person who buys that car truely appreciates it.

RawAlex 06-12-2007 10:47 AM

I would never spend this type of money for a car you can't enjoy.

As soon as you title it, you have lost a ton of value.

As soon as you drive it, you have lost a ton of value.

Plate it and drive it even 100 miles, and you are the lucky owner of a maybe 50,000$ car.

MattO 06-12-2007 10:55 AM

My friend's dad bought one of those way back new and we managed to sneak it out one night and I puked in the back seat. Vodka.

Ravage 06-12-2007 10:58 AM

Wow, great collector item for someone that has the lettuce to burn!

A friend of mine has one that he drives in the summer. He's upgraded and modified it over the years, including upgrading the turbo.

Hopefully GM will go thru with the 2008 prototype GNX

The problem with this specific car is that as a collectable you can't really enjoy it or it loses its value :(

I wouldn't buy a GN I couldn't modify and then bag on :)

It's still worth over 50k with miles on it.

pornguy 06-12-2007 11:45 AM

actually I prefer the Same year Regal Trubo T Type. Same engine and everything but the bost was 900 pounds lighter

Michaelious 06-12-2007 11:47 AM

Nice car, not too bad.

When your talking tenths of a second..... it doesn't make much difference and it's more about the driver.

It still blows me away that people plunk down $30k cash in 1987 for a car and then locked it up in their garage for twenty years.

I guess my step father did something similar. He bought a ten year old Fiat - one of those wedge like cars - with 2k miles on it. He mostly parked it in the garage and took it out once a month during the summer.

My car has 25k miles on it now but I rarely drive it.

Ray@TastyDollars 06-12-2007 03:34 PM

Some of these replies are rather amusing hehe.

Doug E 06-12-2007 08:01 PM
