Video Sharing Sites and their Affect on Paysites
Seems like more and more hype about low sales due to video sharing sites. I have to admit we have seen our growth slow these last few months. Where is it going from here?
I think while the abundance of video share sites are surely affecting sales; eventually it will play it self out. I run a youtube clone http://seemyorgasm.com and b/w isn't cheap. In the end someone will have to pay for the truly amatuer uploads. Fortune 500 companies for the most part won't buy ads around adult content and adult ads don't convert nearly as well as other placements, such as TGP banners and galleries. So I think it will have a short term affect (a year or two) and eventually a correction will come in some form. Thoughts? |
I think it's sliding more toward people paying for rapidshare accounts etc
There is way more content (audio, video, pics, apps etc) for a really low monthly fee. |

paysites limit the amount of money you charge your customers... 19.95/ monthly 39.97 monthly includes all sites... etc.. then upsell and cross sale.. to make more...
Pay Per View does not limit a customer from spending $300 monthly watching porn from a video on demand portal like XonDemand.com PPV is just another delivery method like downloads, streams, rentals etc.. video on demand see sig... |

Hey Todd, didn't you want to hit me on the ICQ one day?
I remember I got it blocked and now I believe that it was the Yanks Todd. Nothing genial to contribute but I ussually have a real hard time finding anything interesting on the xxx sharing sites in a reasonable time, too messy to find stuff you would like as a surfer and it gets odd after a while. Also, as far as XXX is in general pretty impulsive stuff to market, I believe, besides from letting the surfers wank you also don't want to spoil their mood browsing too much content, it would interest me how much do surfers spend in average on the video sharing sites. What I mean by this is that these sites simply combine both bad elements mentioned. Also accumulate lots of crap traffic (underage, no cc). What I would say, much better way how to reasonably cope with selected / filtered video shared content is for example www.watchme.com , it's more like a hybrid between ppv and video sharing, the web setup was provided by a friend of mine and I believe they are also very succesfull. |
