Perfect ending to the Soprano's

Perfection, I couldn't think of a better way to end it.

The show was a first of it's kind. And it ended the same way.

Brilliant :thumbsup

madawgz 06-10-2007 11:28 PM

it was okay, but not what everyone expected

Jim_Gunn 06-10-2007 11:30 PM

What a bullshit ending. Trying to be creative, but all he did was piss most people off.

pr0 06-11-2007 01:21 AM

didn't piss me off......i thought it was brilliant

then again...i'm into film, i'm not some average joe who just wanted to see a bloodbath, but whatever :thumbsup

I felt like the ending was a big fuck you to fans. I'm happy with ending things with some stuff left unsaid and I understand that this show has a history of ending each season with the family together eating, but I felt they owed us more. I would have been perfectly happy if they just added another minute and wrapped it up. They could have had Meadow come in and sit down and then Tony introduces the FBI agent and tells them they are going into witness protection or they could have had the guy shoot tony. I would have be happy if they just showed Meadow walk in and you hear gun fire and her screaming. To me this ending was a cop out. It was a way for him to just end things without having to resolve anything.

J$tyle$ 06-11-2007 02:07 AM

double post

J$tyle$ 06-11-2007 02:10 AM

the cat and the whacking were the best part of the show

otherwise, it was an utter disappointment imo

even if their intention is to start shooting a movie, they could have simply made this a better episode.

it was like they had A.D.D. when writing it ... lots of nonsense scenes

last weeks was 10x's better ... and it would have been better if THAT was the last episode ... at least then, the cliffhanger would have been more interesting

ya i didnt like the ending either.

RevSand 06-11-2007 05:23 AM

I liked the ending but I think this whole last season was a waste mostly. I could have done without 90% of it and thought it was useless (come-on who cared about the kid shitting in the shower). I was hoping for more of a general bloodbath with the cast and woudl have been happy with the ending otherwise.

RevSand 06-11-2007 05:23 AM

Double Double!

cool1 06-11-2007 05:42 AM

I didn't like the end, was expecting much more.
oh well if they come out with a movie I will not bother to go see it.

WebairGerard 06-11-2007 06:51 AM

I did like the artistic side of the ending but I agree with J$tyle$ that last week's episode would have a made a better final show.

As far as this season goes, too many filler type shows. Like the one when they spent the entire show on Junior and the Asian kid that beats the crap out him. What did that have to do with anything???

All in all was a great run. I am not a TV fan, don't watch much at all but ALWAYS watched The Sopranos.

LiveDose 06-11-2007 07:43 AM

It was time for the show to be over.

Cassie 06-11-2007 08:46 AM

the only reason i didn't like the ending is because i thought i was having cable problems again.

royaljelly2 06-11-2007 09:02 AM

what was the ending?!

CosmicTang 06-11-2007 09:06 AM

It was an artful ending. It was intended to be annoying. The show was never cliched or pedestrian, why should it end that way.

It constantly left things ambiguous and unsettling. They did the right thing.

The proof?

Everyone's talking about it.

You're convincing yourself that was a good ending. I don't care if they had a bloodbath or if they all sat down as a family in that restaurant and had some pithy conversation and faded to black from there. I would have accepted just about anything. But leaving us hanging and forcing us to imagine whatever we want, and to debate, was he whacked or not is a cop out disguised as creativity. Fuck David Chase.

dodger21 06-11-2007 10:14 AM

theyre setting up for a movie i think

I think the American Cannibal writers wrote the ending to the Sopranos.

And you're right. The cat was cool, the whack was cool, glad to see him get his. But man, they could have ended it last week and kept us all waiting for the movie to see the battle.

It's obvious they'll make a movie. Or, they'll announce doing another season in 3 years and continue it.

D-Money 06-11-2007 10:34 AM

And in my opinion, they should have an ending.

I don't feel like the series came to an end. After years of watching it, you'd like to know if Tony lives, goes to jail, how does it end?

But hey, it was more entertaining then my Cavs in the game 2.

LeBron and the Cavs got whacked, they called it a massacre.

axelcat 06-11-2007 10:35 AM

The ending was good, not what any expected which makes it good

BiggleJones 06-11-2007 10:50 AM

It definitely wasnt what everyone expected...including myself. But I loved it. There was no need to tied up every little loose-end, because their lives just keep going while the cameras are off. So everyone can draw their own conclusions.

It was a good ending in my book

Achmed 06-11-2007 10:58 AM

what is whacking?

I spent an hour finding a pub with hbo, to no avail....& ended up watching game #2/having some beers at a local spot. I remember commenting exactly this to the bartender & guy next to me

"Well, at least i got to see something get whacked"

:1orglaugh

my friends tell me tony discussed this with someone about whackings - everything goes black - nothing - this is supposedly why there was no music at the end - so it is assumed he got whacked. BUT - almost everyone thought they lost their cable instead - seems like a clever way to do it I guess but disappointing to say the least.

I loved it too :thumbsup Think outside the box for a bit... Couple possible theories, remember when Tony and Bobby were in the boat discussing what it was like to be whacked, and Bobby is like "everything goes black, you don't hear or see nothing"... The whole series was from Tony's perspective, so if he does get shot it's only fitting that it happens from his perspective. Note it's the only episode that did not roll the credits to music.

Another observation that I really liked was this. What were you paying attention to in the diner? The italian dude walking in behind AJ? The two black guys? The dude in the members only jacket? You're watching and waiting for something to happen...... and that is what it's like being Tony Soprano. Always on edge, even during a basic family dinner. The end. I love it.

Axeman 06-11-2007 03:10 PM

I think the episode was a good episode if it was a season finale and a cliffhanger but as a series finale I thought it was brutal and gutless to leave it like that.

V_RocKs 06-12-2007 06:11 AM

I love you Uno....

In a gay sort of way.
