Data Execution Prevention

Is anyone crafty with this? If I turn it off it really fucks up my computer. I'm having problems playing these mpegs from my sony camecorder to my computer.

If I play them in Windows Media Player I get a Data Execution Prevention error and it kills my system. Even if I just click on the properties of the file, it gives me error. Can anyone help?

you don't only have to turn it off all the way

you can add exceptions to what it will handle

Not really sure how to do that. Why would it crap out my system if I click on a video my video recorder recorded?
