Contamos con material exclusivo nunca antes visto It translates as "We have exclusive content never seen before".. Believe me QuaShe, the way you want to traslate it sounds bad in spanish.. I live in México so I know what I'm talking about. Content is Material in spanish, "contenido" is misleading and most people won't know what you're talking about. :2 cents: |

Gaby if we get technical... The fact that you live in Mex does not mean doodoo... =)
If you were to talk to someone from Spain you would not understand 1/2 of what they say... so... What makes sense to you may not make sense in countries outside of Mex and sometimes in cities.. outside of where you live.. I say that out of experience.. I live in Miami which has ppl from all over south america and I know that is very dificult to say one word that EVERYONE will understand.. you don't have that problem cuz where you live .. i would guess are mostly mexicans who have spoken like yourself all their lives... BUT..you were right on what you wrote.. at least to me that sounds better.. |
Dax, spanish is not that different from one country to other in the same way English is almost the same in the US, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and England. Just avoid the slang, and you'll make yourself clear all the time.
If you don't understand the spanish from a South American country there's a reason for it, they're using slang and you won't find it in any Diccionario de la Real Academia. I know my doodoo and I know when one spanish translation is sucky. It doesn't matter where I live. It comes from speaking spanish as my first language. |

That's sooooo false. We understand perfectly as long as they don't use any slang. We get to watch Spanish movies and they don't need any translation or subtitles. Same with their music, the only thing different is the accent :winkwink: |

|
Gaby.. Like I said.. unless you lived in a city such as Miami... You can't talk about other countries and the way they speak...
Obviously the core of the language is pretty much the same.. ( ex: Yo soy is gonna be Yo soy everywhere ) Also, Spanis IS my first language.. Parquear is not wrong to my knowledge it comes from Parqueo. And both words are in a dictionary. But whatever.. as long as we all understand each other.. |
no comprende senor

The reason why i say that.... is because I just spent a week with two guys from spain and i could not understand everything they said.. they have to use other words to explain.. ;) |

Vos sabés de que te parlo, nocierto? |

Spanish speaking people that don´t know what "contenido" means are not surfing the web. Believe me. |

from my country carries such an ugly signature on this board. |
I worked with some Mexican and Cuban women and they could communicate on one level but there was alot of pauses and you could almost see them reaching out for words that the other would understand. :) Then they snickered at each other when the other walked away and both groups would say: "They don't know how to speak Spanish!" :1orglaugh
I'd have to think that pure Castilian Spanish would have alot of differences from the Western Hemisphere styles just due to the Indians involvement. |

Btw, I'm talking on ICQ with a friend from Argentina. She says Material and Contenido are both correct. That tells me you need to improve your vocabulary a little bit...

"contenido" was misleading, and it´s NOT. When you surf around spanish sites or even when an spanish internet portal ad comes up on TV, they say "contenido" when they refeer to their content. And WTF? Where did i said that "contenido" and "material" weren´t the same thing? of course they are! You´re the one twisting the conversation. And you still need to buy that clue. |
