idiots who put keychup or steak sauce on their steaks

should be shot

what is the point of having a really good filet then dousing the fucker in ketchup or a1 :helpme

CDSmith 06-10-2007 01:26 PM

Anyone putting sauce on a filet mignon should be shot.

If ketchup, shot & pissed on.

On certain other cuts of steak I like barbecue sauce though.

But filet is sacred.

Dirty F 06-10-2007 01:26 PM

Shuuuttt the fucck up!

annomoterrace 06-10-2007 01:26 PM

I agree.

Sherms Shack 06-10-2007 01:28 PM

I feel the same way, but I love a good marinade on a fillet...Can't go wrong with Teriyaki.

WiredGuy 06-10-2007 01:28 PM

I love A1 or HP sauce on a fine cooked steak. Damn its good!

agreed! :thumbsup there's a big difference between marinating a steak and destroying a good steak with crappy sauce(s).

Oracle Porn 06-10-2007 01:35 PM

I like HP too. but not on a filet.

rapmaster 06-10-2007 01:41 PM

Wot the man said.

IllTestYourGirls 06-10-2007 01:44 PM

you never make a nice pan sause? Or are you talking about A1 and shit like that?

Bro Media - BANNED FOR LIFE 06-10-2007 01:54 PM

a good steak doesn't need any flavoring other then its own juices

extra flavors = shitty steak that needs something else just for it to taste good

Mutt 06-10-2007 01:55 PM

i pour some kind of sauce on any kind of meat - meat is meat, i'm not crazy about the taste of meat all alone.

give me beef jerky any day!

MikeVega 06-10-2007 01:59 PM

I was at a restaurant with a friend .. I really nice place .. I just ordered a $150 bottle of wine and my buddy asks the waiter for Salt and Ketchup !! I told the waiter not to bring it and explained to my buddy that putting that on a chefs food is like spitting in his face. the food came and it was seasoned just right. I only put Peter Luger sauce on steaks i make on the grill. if you go out to eat let the chief handle it ..

Subtle 06-10-2007 02:04 PM

How does it matter who is eating what and how?? Just eat and enjoy!!

DaddyHalbucks 06-10-2007 02:14 PM

I agree, but I don't eat beef.

$150? Cheap ass. :winkwink:

I personally think rubs and sauces can add a lot of flavor if done right. Saying not to is kinda like saying dont put frosting on cake.

Why do you have to tell the wine was 150USD?

Doctor Dre 06-10-2007 02:36 PM

Good aged steak dosen't need shit... but I'm a sucker for Montreal's steak spices (shwartz are the best spices)

Michaelious 06-10-2007 02:37 PM

Yeah it hides the real taste.

I was trying to give an idea of the quality of the place. as a general rule i don't buy wine over $50 in a restaurant but I just happen to buy a bottle that was about $125 that night because I wanted it to be a special night. It just seemed fitting to the story .. it was an example of what type of place and dinner we were having. It wasn't an Outback is what i was trying to say ..

I had a good steak last time i was in Canada. I was at one of the shows. The restaurant was called The Horses Head or something like that. (It was in French) It was nice .. you ordered the cut and then they brought it by for you to see and approve before cooking it. I haven't had a single restaurant in NY do that yet. They had a Butcher right there in the restaurant by the front window. It was a good time. I think Juicy was with me..

you are right to quote the price of the bottle ... it does give an idea of the quality of the wine .... didn't come in 4 liters format ...

What he is trying to say is he was trying to get his boyfriends Hernando drunk enough to take advantage of him

tehHinjew 06-10-2007 05:05 PM

i only put sauce on the steak right before i remove it off the grill
i dont marinade my steak with any sauces because the sugar makes the steak look burnt

Even though I cook most of the time and often for other people and so forth. I at first used to feel the same way, then I realized I am not the one eating it they are. If they wish to rub it between their ass crack first before munching down on it I do not care. Some people will extra season stuff by adding more salt and pepper without tasting it, others will want katchup or ranch with just about everything. In reality though does it really matter much to you?

Fred Quimby 06-10-2007 05:29 PM

The tougher the meat the more mainating it needs, like a london broil or flank steak. The closer to the tenderloin the less it needs.

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...Tenderloin.png

Now,,,who wants some shank?

Slick 06-10-2007 08:35 PM

I agree about not putting sauce or ketchup on steak. The thing is that if you're paying for a nice cut of steak, it's worth tasting it. Why even bother with a nice porterhouse of filet mignon when you could buy the cheapest steak and have it taste the same, like ketchup or A1.

CDSmith 06-10-2007 09:09 PM

Some meat is definitely meant for sauce though...
