Hard rock fans...who's has/had the best voice ever?
My vote goes to Klaus Meine, the Scorpions lead singer.
actually it's really hard to choose one track from so many of them, so I'm proposing this '82 original one: https://youtube.com/watch?v=2UqCkFTtOOs very close in my book follows Freddie Mercury, but Queen ranks amongst the all time music legends rather than hard rock only. ...KM's is hair sucks, although:1orglaugh |
Ronnie James Dio
No Question... never !! |
I hated Led Zeppelin growing up but Robert Plant had, to me, just about the perfect rock voice.
|
I'll add Miljenko Matijevic from Steelheart to that list.
|
After thousands of hours of intense listening to many many acts and after I saw him live two years ago - Ronnie James Dio is on the top of the hard rock genre for me, Bruce Dickinson is also impressive and has a very nice voice colour, Gillan was very cool before 73, then he somehow lost the magic. With Rob Halford we have another top singer in the game, although I never completely enjoyed the nature of his voice one must say that his range, feeling and live performing is also incredible.
From the younger ones I always enjoyed Chris Cornell, Maynard James Ferguson from Tool or Eddie Vedder (even they are also in or close to their fourties, seems like were all getting old) |

I raise my point with a 2003 Red Square Moscow live performance:

forgot all about them. Even saw them in concert way back when. :thumbsup |
Not my favorite but I think the singer that could do the most with his voice was Freddy mercury, especially if you include showmanship.
Rob Halford and Bruce Dickinson are in the same category. I like James Hetfield a lot but please don't include him in the great voices category. |
Good God Damn... https://youtube.com/watch?v=tR-5Z...elated&search=
Thats amazing to do with just a piano and a voice. Power! Was he the singer for Mark Wahlberg on Rockstar? Im grabbing the movie to compare. |
