Thinking about buying one. I also see that they are working out a deal with YouTube.

i have one, its decent out of the box but somewhat limited (no 5.1 audio out of optical, etc.) but if you are willing to get your hands dirty and like 'modding' your toys there are lots of extra perks that can be set up on the AppleTv, including ripped DVD playback, non-iTunes video playback via Perian and the like...

i wouldn't have kept mine if not for the available mods though i will admit..

They've been hacked to do otherwise, but I'm pretty sure they only work with content purchased from the iTunes Store out of the box. That's pretty limiting.

I love that is let's me sync my photos to it and view them on my TV's

heard that they are working on a much much improved version.. just a rumor but I think reliable source..

It's not a TV, it's a wireless system that syncs with you computer and plays your videos, music, photos on your TV/Entertainment system.
