The baby has had me and the wife up every night...

Been up since 4am... its killing me....

Past few nights everytime we put her down, she would pop up again... SO we cut out a nap yesterday and she went to sleep fine... But she is still getting up again at 4am ready to play...

wtffffffffffffff

I need sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeep

I feel for you man ... We have 4-month old twin boys. Been up since 4 too. Tired as hell, just can't fall back asleep.

en21 06-07-2007 03:03 AM

once she is 3 months over.. should settle

cardinalvices 06-07-2007 03:13 AM

I'm about to experience your suffering.. Its part of being a parent, there is no more Me anymore.

Madame0120 06-07-2007 03:20 AM

You may have what is called ...

a trained night crier.

If you rock the baby to sleep and then put it down for the night, it never learns to put itself back to sleep. It took only a week, for us to get our lil crumb snatcher to sleep from 8 PM till 7 AM w/ the usual afternoon nap included.

Good Luck and great Blessings on the wee one.

Hang in there babe...It does get better! Try and nap when she's down in the afternoon if you can get away for a little while. Chris and I would often fall asleep on the couch with our little guy...It's amazing bonding time and worth every waking moment. :winkwink:

Id have to agree with Madame0120 u have to suffer through the crying and just let ur baby put itself back to sleep. Its really hard but u have to do it.

Naughty 06-07-2007 05:46 AM

Hahaha, my 9 month old wakes up at 6am every day now since a week or three. He's awake as can be and looks really happy when i come in. Little bastard. I used to go to bed then, times change when you have a kid ....

MattO 06-07-2007 05:52 AM

My first kid was like that, wouldn't sleep at all, for over a year I was in constant sleep-deprived zombie land.

My 2 month old, though, is sleeping through the night. It's so much easier this time around.

Kram 06-07-2007 05:53 AM

Our first son had collick don't know if thats spelt right but he would start crying every evening and keep on until early hours in the morning for about 18 months but with our second he slept through every night ...

Ssv 06-07-2007 06:35 AM

So, you guys say that I should skip my first baby and go right to the second? Thanks:)

markz08 06-07-2007 06:40 AM

well we also did that when we were babies... =)

Big_D 06-07-2007 06:58 AM

ouch dude, good luck, dont have kids but i will one day

cool1 06-07-2007 07:15 AM

the pains of having a baby

my son is now 2 yrs and he still wakes up around 3:30 am for a drink and of course he then wants to play. usually only for 30 minutes or so then he crashes again until 6:30am. It is a good thing I only sleep 3 to 4 hrs a night myself or I would be exhausted
he doesn't nap during the day anymore

stickyfingerz 06-07-2007 07:25 AM

If she didnt breast feed thats the problem. All 3 of ours pretty much sleep through the night, even the 20 day old. :)

Welcome to parenthood, hehe

I'm a veteran, so barely even noticed the night crying and sleep deprivation by the time we had the 4th kid...

You think your not sleeping now, wait, it only gets worse, wait until they turn 16 and start dating, driving, or even 20 and away at college, I would take the first yr over this anyday!

SmokeyTheBear 06-07-2007 10:24 AM

if your both not getting sleep it doesn't make much sense to share the load.. so heres what you do ..

you each take a night and do it all yourself. get some earplugs and sleep in another room on your "night off" until your baby gets on a schedult that will let you sleep.

p.s. , if your wife is blonde , tell her she has to take all the days of the week ending in "Y" and you will take all the rest.. :winkwink:

6 months and counting up here... only way we can get him to sleep is to walk with him for hours... estimated over 150 hours walking during May :/

nAtuRaLbEautY 06-07-2007 12:36 PM

dont worry, time will pass and by that time you'll miss your kid at this age :winkwink:

Jensen 06-07-2007 12:38 PM

on the other hand, we just spent a month at the local childrens hospital and consider us lucky.. so much bad stuff going on.. seeing small childer with cancer and stuff is awful..

Yep, mine was breast fed and she's been sleeping through the night since after her 1st or 2nd month and she's 10 months now. That breast milk is some special shit!! :thumbsup
