hard to get people to type in a url
 

It seems to me that it is sooo difficult to get people to type an address in the address bar to go to a site, if they can't just click on a link the odds of a random person entering a url in the address bar to go to a site is next to nil.

It wasn't that way 5 or 6 years ago.

Urls were alot shorter back then..:pimp

and the intelligence of the average internet user was higher too, the demographics have changed for sure

yes, make the URL short, and they'll type it in then

Many go to google and will type the name in rather than bother to type it in full.

Ie I get many hits from people doing a seach for NakedPaintBalling.com in google.

I think people use google to save having to type the name in full.

That drives me crazy when i see someone do that in front of me.. They will go to the google page to type in the URL... I just do not get that...
