Cars crash into tunnels *all the time*. There was one in my city years ago, involving a young driver breaking rules. The tunnel was restricted to public buses.

He was going too fast, and was just outside his lane. Once his car swerved on top of a low median, it acted as a track which prevented the car from escaping and plowed it head-on into a concrete pillar. I think the median has since been removed. I think there were passenger fatalities too.

with all due respect to the Brits, I'd rather find out who really killed JFK first. Diana's death wasn't a silent coup.

No you shouldn't drink and drive, but if the paparazzi wasn't chasing them would the driver be going so fast? The answer is NO. They SHOULD have been held partly responsible. Gods know here in the US if I chase someone and they crash and they die I'm geting ass raped in prison for 5 years.
