anyone know of a URL redirection script like this?
i'm looking for an off-the-shelf script that if a surfer goes to a domain, that domain will redirect seamlessly to a different domain, but the original domain will always show in the surfer's taskbar so the surfer still thinks he's on the original domain.
ideally with a web-based redirect module that can change the new destination at any time. any know of something? thanks! |
you can do a url frame using dns

Yeah just do a framed url redirect and put whatever you want it to say in the browser title.

Use an iframe, 2 lines of code can do it.

thanks you guys, i didn't describe it correctly because i'm not so smart about this.
what i'm looking for is domain redirection and cloaking. surfer is redirected seamlessly to box closer to him for faster transfer, but surfer still sees original domain in his address window. the idea is to use cheap hosting for different geographic regions so content loads fast. |
That's a lot more complex because this involves geo-ip targetting among other things. Basically you're looking for an Akamai clone from what you described. Do some searches for that.
