I got two kinds of tomatos, two kinds of carrots, three kinds of radishes, two kinds of melons, two kinds of peppers, cabbage and kohl rabis planted this year...

miss_twisted 06-05-2007 06:50 PM

Gardening is manly unless you have lots of fruity accessories.

Spunky 06-05-2007 07:17 PM

DateDoc 06-05-2007 10:31 PM

I help mom with her rose garden when I am visiting my parents. Nothing wrong with it. :thumbsup

quiet 06-05-2007 10:36 PM

sweet. my herb plants are currently dying, but i try.

wyldworx 06-05-2007 10:56 PM

i also have a garden and find it a very spiritual experience. Sometimes it takes me away to another world of creation and time outside with my son and fiance is always good for building my family... contrary to beleif it is a very non-fag hobby and quite therapeutic but most of all if we can get in touch with our physical environment and help to cultivate it we only increase our co-habitibility with nature thus nurturing the ecosystem back to a balanced state of biodiversity.

well done for whatever the reason and good luck with it.... I have a couple of tree ferns, a nice patch of geraniums and a few assorted natives in my garden and i am about to erect a feature fence and a small koy pond for two koy. I am at the final stages now and then i will be getting a few more plants some pebbles and my yard will be done.

Agriculture is at the base of all civilization.

Sarah_Jayne 06-06-2007 03:18 AM

The older I get the more I envy a nice garden.

AM Jeff 06-06-2007 06:06 AM

You always been a fruit...even without the garden.:winkwink:

Tom_PM 06-06-2007 06:44 AM

It only makes good sense to grow your own.

silver 06-06-2007 06:52 AM

Gardens are really exciting when you add a few Hemp plants to them:thumbsup

Cyndalie 06-06-2007 07:28 AM

Gardening is fun and relaxing. I've got Basil, Mint, Rosemary and Oregano growing crazy. 9 tomato plants getting big, 6 green peppers starting to bud, planted a shade garden with all kinds of ferns and hostas that are starting to fill in. I have about a dozen sunflowers pushing 3 feet high now :) and 2 rosebushes, one just finished blooming and should again a few times this summer, and one about to bud. It's fun, I really enjoy spending some time out side each day just to check up on everything.

Damn that was my quote ^^

Tom_PM 06-06-2007 07:37 AM

Technically, tomatoes are fruits because they contain the means to reproduce. The tomato we know is the "fruit" of the tomato plant. Usually what we call vegetables are the leaves, roots, stalks of plants that dont contain reproductive parts.

"In 1893, the United States Supreme Court ruled the tomato was a "vegetable" and therefore subject to import taxes. The suit was brought by a consortium of growers who wanted it declared a vegetable to protect U.S. crop development and prices. "

So... like..... whatever.. n stuff.
:helpme

Not at all. I too am a gardener. I have a herb garden and then my main veggie garden. Its 12ft x 24ft. Should produce some sick stuff this year.

Take some pics and share. I'll take some today as well.

Precisely, it was the moment at which some prehistoric man decided that he could take the delicious plants and animals he loved to eat and mass produce them for his own consumption, that man became man. Up until that point we were still just animals.

Bill8 06-06-2007 11:31 AM

I started gardening again last year, and have doubled the size of the beds this year. Good exercise, lots of salads, save money, and tastier food.

It's kinda cool.
