In the middle of the night, walk a few blocks away from the casinos by yourself.

It isn't vegas at all but that is okay if you are on a day trip. It is where old women from New York and Philly go for the day on the casino busses.

The only thing I like about Atlatic City is its boardwalk. Well, sure I played in the casinos :)
