is there a way to trace which other domains someone owns? through dns or somthing

There is no 'bullet proof' way determining that.

If you are really desperate and the specific nameserver
allows it to retrieve all listed domains you could do a check
and see if there are matches.

However: that still doesnt make 100% clear what domains
this individual owns since he may have certain names
hosted somewhere else, other nameservers, other registrants
using another names.. etc etc..
