WTD: Tube script but like sumo.tv
 

Hiya,

I know theres a lot of paid/free youtube scripts out there, and some of the commercial ones are solid for running on huge dedicated servers and hosting hundreds of thousands of videos.

What im wanting though is something a bit different. It's got to have:

Nice clean CSS template/skin
Fast and secure backend
All the community features

However I don't want users to UPLOAD the video files, I want them to just be able to insert embed codes.

Sumo.tv does this (as well as offering file uploads)

Im wanting to replace the high maintenance Joomla script that I use on www.fight-vids.co.uk

Script needs to be realistically priced, or heck if theres a free one about that will just need minimal modification to improve?

Im not wanting one that allows users to upload files. Merely they post their embed codes from other sites like youtube etc.

looks like theres nothing out there then..... :(

All my google results just come up with Clip share... which is the whole "file upload > flash convert > flash stream" type of site.

I want to give people a place to share their videos that have already been uploaded to one of the other video sharing websites, by giving them an identical site is style and design BUT without FILE UPLOAD

Instead they paste the video embed code into a box, which then uses that code to display the video.

No backend processing, FLV conversion, media hosting needed. Just a user run Fight Video sharing site, gonna be very UK demographic

Do you use that script for video slacker? I'd rather not pay out $420 for it when Im not gonna need the main feature of it (the backend flv) so Im gonna grab the owners email from ya and have a talk with him....

if you just want to be able to add embed codes even from users, which is a mistake in the first place, cause you can send java through user submission which can fuck you in the long run, a youtube style script, people upload and convert to flv and share, the script you are looking for is either custom, or i havent seen it yet.

wordpress i know lets you do your own embed code, but thats the only out of the box solution i can think of.

I need relatively the same thing Goodings is looking for, but I need it to have a voting area that can be reset each week or month.

ok so its an open source beta project which is only at V0.2 but already it does EXACTLY what I need! The project seems to be moving at an average pace, and the kid building it seems to really know his shit.

Im contemplating a donation to speed things up.
