Switching from MPA/NATS back to ccBill?
So what would you think of a program that decided to switch back from a NATS or MPA software back to ccBill only solution. This assuming that moving forward you would have to switch to ccBill tracking codes, while the old codes and links are still tracked through NATS or MPA and paid out by the program until all sales and re-bills from old coded and links eventually die off.
Would you care much if the program has been good to you up to now? |
I would think they know their business best, and though it would suck to swap a lot of links... that's the nature of the biz. However, why do they want to change back? Can't afford it? Can't write the checks? Too many flaws? Too much work?
On the other hand, that seems like a move some shady company would do to fuck some people over, just the same as how some of them claim when going to ccbill to NATS/MPA that the OLD ccbill links will no longer work. |
I would make the presumption that it's a lot of work for the program to do and headache with their affiliates but that they decided at the end of the day it was the best thing for their business. This is one of those sensitive subjects that a program might (rightfully so) not want to open any cans of worms discussing all of their reasons for switching from either accounting package.

When a program runs just a few sites sometimes it's easeir to just nt have to deal with maintaining extra software and having to cut checks, etc. But keep in mind, I said that ONLY the new links would be ccBill, the old ones would still run and resellers can still log in and check stats, etc. Eventually when ALL the old links stop producing and rebills stop, only then the affiliate software goes away. So the reseller can check old stats, so there isn't much screwing anyone as DWB said.

Switching back to CCBill would be crazy imo.

There are reasons why a program might change back and I'd be interested in knowing what those reasons are so that, as an affiliate, I can make a more informed descion about what systems my traffic flows though...
