investors?
I am looking at prosper as a way to fund my business (which is internet related of course), and was wondering if any of you guys tryed this before? My fico score is 714 (considered good), I have 0 debt right now, and my only blackmark on my credit report is a hospital bill that isnt mine, im disputing it now and it will be dropped for sure. Anyway I was wondering if there are any other options or individuals you guys may have used? Prosper has a pretty steep fee (500 to borrow 25k) so I was checking out other options as well. Anyone here have any suggestions? I'm looking for 5k and up idealy, and can guarantee the loan in a number of ways. I wouldnt be opposed to bringing in a silent partner as well, but anyway just curious if you guys have any tips or suggestions.

1) business plan
2) some track record of success 3) put in front of VC & angel investor groups 4) some luck & rolling of the dice |

It's hard to obtain any kind of VC/Angel financing for anything under a half mill. I doubt I would leverage myself that high unless I had a solid Real Estate development in mind =P Thanks though. |
no love?

heh sleazy, thanks =P I have read about that before though, and they have a staggeringly high repayment rate considering the circumstances.

This is a timely thread. I get people asking to invest in things all the time. Just last night a pal asked me to set one up. I don't because I don't want the headache and because my overhead is so low. Heck, I could do with $25k what most guys would need $500k to do in my niche.
Example, if I were to publish a comic book. The staff would be: publisher editor writer primary illustrator penciller secondary illustrator inker colorist letterer designer bookkeeping miscellaneous staff. That's easily $50k in salaries right there and I'm talking bare bones. Since I do all that stuff already and have been doing so for 30 years my overhead drops to basic printing costs and advertising. I have tons of free advertising so that's no big thing. Other guys with one person per staff position are in the red from start to finish. Each condition is different. Business plans, resume's etc. I personally would go down fighting before getting investors but I understand them. I think if people on this board with the means and resources teamed up it would be a great resource. |
just get a credit card
