Found this Motorcycle for sale ... isn't this price way to low? ( LINK)

I don't know much about sport bikes but i know that this is one of the fastest bikes around. I'm not in the market for one and this is way too much bike for me but if that price is for real I'm going to buy it and resell or hold it till I feel I can handle it. I need to hit this guy up and get the story.

You guess that know ..what is a bike like this worth? I would guess about $8-10K No?

I get a message "posting flagged for removal" from your link. I guess that answers your question (and yes, IMO that was suspiciously cheap).

GigaAlan 06-01-2007 04:16 PM

Yeah, this bike was all over Ebay for a while and it might be back. A guy I know sent 3k Western Union (Even though we all said use PayPal) and it was a total scam. The bike was to be picked up in Florida but the money was taken in Chicago. The LAPD got involved but nothing came of it.

Hope you did not send this guy money...

I agree. Doesn't seem a sane person would let it go for that.

That old adage almost always applies. Too good to be true....

MikeVega 06-01-2007 04:18 PM

That's what i figured ... I watch the bike listings every day and i knew that was retarded .. lol .. it is a nice bike

jayeff 06-01-2007 04:34 PM

PS: when you do look for a bike in that class, you could do a lot worse than the Suzuki GSX-R1000

Pete-KT 06-01-2007 04:54 PM

That bike would easily sell for over 7500 had to be a scam

Hiyabusa's sell for like 14K brand new... price was beyond suspiciously cheap.

jayeff 06-01-2007 05:18 PM

One of my first bikes was a Ducati... but that was 40 years ago when motorcycle styling was pretty much restricted to Italian bikes. Truthfully, I haven't been much into sports bikes since owning a Honda CBX - http://www.classicbikes.co.uk/machine5.html - many years ago. Maybe not so great for posing with (tho the engine used to get some looks), but all the ride I needed and a lot more comfortable and maneouverable - in traffic and over long distances - than the flat-on-the-tank, clip-on-handlebar style.

I used to race bikes in the late 60's and in those days "cafe racer" road bikes were generally sneered at. I guess I never really got past that image :)

I love the Buells .. I almost bought a Blast off a guy as my first bike. It was in brand new condition .. it even had the factory stickers and shit on it. the guy had a baby and the wife was making him sell it. It was only a 400 and i knew i would grow out of it fast so i passed. I'd love to get a Lightning 9SX or a FIREBOLT XB9R . but I've always love the Ducati's
