And yet people just donate to them without batting a freaking eye. Here is stand up guy thats been around for along time and has given alot to alot of people. And no one is stepping up to help him out. It's pretty fucked up. He's really helped out this industry in alot of ways behind the scenes.


He's a gimp, disabled since 12 years old... and wants to dance at his wedding. If that isn't legit then i don't know what else is.

I've donated on here a bit and in this case I actually feel it's worthwhile. ASM is one of the best posters on GFY and all the threads where people name the most helpful or best posters he is mentioned more than anyone else.

Do what you can... take a few minutes to donate some money.

I honestly wish I could just buy that fucker outright. I thought the same thing. except the names you mentioned. When I read his post I didnt know either that he was diabled, nor really that he contributes to GFY. Ive only watched his words of wisdom. Smart mother fucker, knows a lot of useful shit, but i have never actually worked with ASM. Perhaps later on down the road.

Ive always watched for his words. When i read the wedding/ wheelchair story it was nice. Struck a chord. Not the awwwe factor but the damn "that takes some balls" factor. Dude came to GFY and told us that... and hes asking for that... thats a fine plan. I just felt mixed about the other end. The Giving end.

I hope it happens. But i doubt the faith in the givers will prevail.

I honestly thought about donating, just to say I helped, I still may, but ill be honest, it will be pittance. But thats where you know if its genuine or not, from the reciever. Anything helps.

He runs a few paysites/affiliate programs. He helps newbies and consults. He is currently invested in 20+ paysites that aren't under his program. He's a real corner stone to alot of people.

Ok, I don't want to get into a debate and what I will say may be unpopular... but...

first of all, did a tragedy happen to him? nah, he gets married, so it's sounds like a good thing (assumining he has a prenup lol :winkwink: )

second, it seems like he's succesfull already, he hasn't any financial problems, it's possible that he could afford what he wants to get by himself

third, i know he's on a wheelchair, but from his previous long thread about this, I got the impression he doesn't want to be treated differently because of it.
Being a webmaster and working from home offers him the same chances biz wise as any of us has. Since ASM is on a wheelchair, he doesnt drive a car... Most GFY'ers drive cars in the price of this Ibot wheelchair.... if he wasn't on a wheelchair, he'd be driving one too, - would GFY be paying for it?

Forth, he was asking for donations directly and even prepared a website about this. The main reasoning was that he helped GFY'ers so much and contributed so much that now we owe him something... yes, I definitely liked his posts and those who were in direct relations with him would most likely appreciate his help as well, but why setting up a website about it and then listing the people who donated and giving them stars depending on the amount they donated?

I've just possibly lost $20k in an epassporte-like payment system, and i'm buying a new house later this year. Im not gonna ask GFY'ers for anything though... everyone is the master of his own life, thats the American way, not?

Not sure if you follow GFY or ASM's situation, but he spent 3+ months in the Hospital and just got out recently.. he also doesnt have insurance to cover the cost's.. so you can imagine how much a stay in the hospital is setting him back.

Yeah this is a good and worthy cause , ASM is in need of these items we all should help

-No. GFY isn't paying for a wheelchair that would help him get around, although that is an added benefit. I believe the site states that his main goal is to be able to dance with his new wife. With the way the chair works, he'd be raised to standing height and would be able to maneuver by leaning, and in essence he'd be dancing with her. It would give him the ability to do something we all take for granted and do (albeit some much better than others).

-I would think to give people the credit they deserve. It's a nice touch, actually. People work hard for their money, so why not give to a good cause while at the same time enjoying some self promotion.

-I feel you've brought up some valid points. I understand that a lot of people can be skeptical if there have been some very questionable donation threads in the past.

What it all comes down to is After Shock Media is a great guy, and a serious contributor to GFY here. I know my words may not carry much weight because I'm a noob with a low post count and a recent join date, but I remember when I made my first site and I was endlessly freaking out about the (at the time) scary 2257 laws, After Shock Media was the one who took the time to explain everything to me, reassure me, and set me straight about what I could and should do to protect myself and ensure a lucrative and legal hassle-free future in adult webmasterdom. Would the bulk of GFY posters do something like that? I don't know, but I sure as fuck know After Shock Media will.
