I think this industry has a major shortage of good-cheap-fast writers that isn't outsourced labor.

I have went through many writers, they just flake out. Cycle of events I guess - one day I will find someone strong that won't disappear.

I write well, but it's certainly not cheap. Most things that are any good don't come at a discount. I try to keep a few solid clients who don't mind paying for quality.

Indeed. You're always going to get what you pay for. Sure, with a great writer they'll put out quality in good time at a reasonable cost. They're still out there, just a matter of finding them :)

Quality content does have real costs, but some experienced writers may enjoy economies of scale (and have access to developed proprietary resources) which afford them the ability to pass those savings on to their clients.

Competitive good value is not always the same as cheap quality/price due to a lesser standard of labor pool (as in outsourcing).

Keeping this going for all the writers and all the people looking for writers. I know lots are.. People just need to see this post.

Writers should post some examples, post some prices too but not an entire quote.. What do you guys have to offer?


I have a need, this moment for someone to write 'affiliate program' type articles on different .. subjects. Pretty much a full page. The person will get a group of keywords to write around and some rules.

Also have 30ish galleries that need.. I think it's 2 small paragraphs and a title - based on keyword groupings. If you can put the text straight on the gallery, that would be best.

Then I have another 200-250 galleries that need pretty much the same thing. But if you know html/css - I need all the galleries hand corrected first, that can be.. about 150 can be improved - then better text added.

Then I have clients.. So many that need text and I don't have a manager or writers to take the client base needs. From rss feeds, to gallery improvements above, to seo work on tours, tgps, ect... I can make an entire business out of it - but bs aside I haven't had the time to do this so I have been turning the work away.

Good writers are usually providing custom work and don't have samples to show you. What you should be doing is asking for the writers to provide you with referrals so you check to see if the people they've written for have been satisfied with their work.

And as someone else in this thread has already said, if the terms 'quality', 'cheap' and 'reliable' are simply not synonymous when it comes to just about anything.

If you want quality and reliability then you have to be prepared to pay for it.

Yea Doc - that's right - let's post prices so the desperates can undercut the good writers.

These days we're providing more written work to a wider range of clients than most others but you will never see us posting our prices here.

People want to know prices.. I don't care that DesignerA is cheaper than DesignerB - that isn't my focus and that is the problem with writers.

We WANT examples, we want prices.. Yes, we will ask for a client list. But we want to get an idea of things and make the call based on personal trust. The lowest prices doesn't mean trust, it means the lowest prices.

I posted a job.. here is the simple of the project.. if that was a design job, like 300 people would have posted by now, with examples, quotes, ect..

I don't want to be spammed with peoples services.. But I sure as hell want to be sold.
