Which conspiracy theories do you find the most entertaining?

I know there are those of you here that actually believe a few of the more famous conspiracy theories. If you are one of those, which do you believe and why?

If, like me, you tend not to, which do you find the most entertaining to watch people try to explain. Man on the moon? Kennedy? Loch Ness? Crop Circles, 911? or something else?

The Duck 05-31-2007 07:25 AM

The one where 19 hijackers with box cutters hijacked airliners and managed to hit 75% of their targets including the american military headquarters.

See my fucking sig.

phourt 05-31-2007 07:25 AM

the one about the US not having sent someone to the moon

ADL Josh 05-31-2007 07:33 AM

Ebola 05-31-2007 08:50 AM

Creationism is pretty funny.

I only heard about this one a few weeks ago and have to say I'm curious :)

I find them somewhat interesting as there's really no way of telling where the truth lies, especially when you're dealing with power and government. It all comes down to perspective and conjecture surrounding available facts. I'm the person that doesn't believe either side, and doesn't need to have one as 'right' I guess!

xxxdesign-net 05-31-2007 09:56 AM

I didnt know Loch Ness was a conspiracy theory.. :eek7

MattO 05-31-2007 10:02 AM

9/11 conspiracy theorists are the biggest bunch of idiots ever assembled.
Their basic "method" is coming up with a theory first then digging for evidence, rather than using actual science which would be gathering evidence first then formulating a theory based on that evidence.

Here's a good source of information based on the science of 9/11 and actual facts http://wtc7lies.googlepages.com/home

ADL Colin 05-31-2007 10:15 AM

1. Apollo landings were faked
2. Bush planned 9/11
3. Roswell alien bodies are in possession of US government.
4. The US government created AIDS

So basically, they are all US government conspiracies. The boogeyman is out there.

I am sure somebody is suppose to be covering something up.

jayeff 06-01-2007 03:43 AM

The "Illuminati" is my favorite: the one with a small group of guys pulling the strings of the world, as it were.

In fact it isn't just a single conspiracy theory, because there are lots of variations around the theme. But collectively it is a great mix of fact and fiction which stretches back to the crusades. There is no doubt that logically there should be something similar to what this theory proposes.

Whether that something is simply a de facto control over global directions because big money interests often converge, or if indeed there is something more organized, who knows?

Yeah, it's happened. But the conspiracy theories come into play when people are talking about it being a mind control substance, and the utilization of it as such as ordained by government officials in order to sedate the mases while they strip away our liberties (hell, maybe it's working after all! :) )

e.g. http://www.ivanfraser.com/articles/health/fluoride.html

And, scientifically speaking, it all holds a bit of water.... maybe not in regards to mind control, but the idea that flouride does more harm than good, certainly.

That's one of the things I like about it - a good conspiracy theory has to be convincing, imho.

I used to work with a guy that was a real conspiracy nut. My all time favorite with him was when the started changing the US currency to add a little color to it which makes it harder to counterfeit and he said the were doing that as a way of getting us use to having color currency because we are on the eve of a one world government and money and this will help make the transition easier.

Michaelious 06-01-2007 03:34 PM
