There's been a couple threads on here about those guys sending torrent and zangofied traffic to their advertisers as of late. Also, AdBrite ads are now being blocked by anti-spyware software..

I guess I could not have picked a better time to have built up Contexaclick, a contextual advertising network. As many of you know, I am still in beta, but everything is fully functional. I am just wanting to redesign the front end before launch.

From previous posts on here and on other boards I have gotten quite a number of webmasters already onboard and using Contexaclick. If you are looking to advertise your sites sign up as an advertiser. Right now I am offering a 20% bonus on all deposits through the weekend. Earlier on I started athread in the Buy & Sell section about that.

If you would like to earn revenue from the clicks on the ads that you display on your websites, sign up as a publisher.

Any questions? Just ask here or email me at service at contexaclick.com, or hit me up on ICQ:143702021

:winkwink:

Only one question: Why would you think a thread like this would be a good place to spam? Seems a little opportunistic and crass. But that's just me.

No, it isn't a place to say "don't use them scum, use us!" - it is a place to try to get them to answer and address the issue, not for anyone else to try to make a quick buck.

No comment on your product, but perhaps you might want to start threads on the merits of your material, rather than waiting for one of your competitors to get wounded so you can buzzard in on their flesh.

UniversalPass Pete 05-30-2007 10:45 PM

Nice!:thumbsup

Jace 05-30-2007 10:45 PM

avn has been doing this for YEARS...it was fusker sites before this.....

bottom line, AVN is one of the worst possible companies to be "leading" the adult internet industry....

The issue doesn't concern you or your major sized sig.

Dayum, you may be right. I am just so excited because of the burst of life in the the network lately and I am going to be launching probably this weekend officially.

will76 05-30-2007 10:55 PM

If you own a pics and video site, seriously you might as well close it down or sell it now while it still has some value. Conversion ratios will only get worse and worse till affiliates will lose money promoting you and they either leave adult or have to promote a cams/dating site.

The days of pics and video sites are numbered, and there must be 100's of pics and video sites owners who post here yet you hear them say ( insert crickets) nothing about this.

RawAlex 05-30-2007 11:05 PM

The funniest part is that AVN stands to lose millions when the Internext shows collapse due to lack of affiliates and programs. Already things are getting thin on the ground and there are a ton of good shows now as alternatives. If the companies that are getting ripped off by the torrent sites that are being supported by Adbrite stopped paying to be at AVN shows, well... that would be a major shift in the realities of the industry.

So, AVN... would you like to make your money now, or make it for a long time to come?

Funny because lots of torrent sites use etology but seems BVF was right on when he said that file upload sites are way bigger than torrents as they seem to occupy most of the top positions at etology.

RawAlex 05-31-2007 12:42 AM

Hopefully someone from Adbrite will show up and give some insightful commentary on this situation.

What kind of excuse could they give? Pull the Lars and tell us their competition made them do it? There is no excusse they can give only lies and BS about how great they are and a true leader of the industry that they like to shit on.

dig0 05-31-2007 01:00 AM

I have seen Adbrite advertising on other file-sharing networks, even on a direct-download and flash-movie portals (as in where people upload tv shows for direct watching via flash).

This is just not right.

I'd love to hear an explanation for this as well. At the moment they look like a whore bending over whenever there is money to be made, regardless how ugly the client is.

Someone from AVN Ads came in here - http://www.gofuckyourself.com/showthread.php?t=732793 - to dispell what was being talked about (their ads being blocked by anti-spyware programs for certain reasons), and well, you can read up on it for yourselves.

So far AVN is absent from this thread. I was hoping someone would come in here and at least try to give a "zango forced us" type excuse.

jact 05-31-2007 01:44 PM

So (in)directly AVN is profiting from and supporting the proliferation of child pornography and content theft from the very people that keep the company alive.. Slap in the face or what?

EDIT: DISCLAIMER: These views are my own and not those of Homegrown Video.

MJ_AVN 05-31-2007 02:27 PM

AVN Ads and Adbrite's sites are two different sites. If you go to AVN Ads and find a Pirate Bay ad for sale, let me know and I'll look into having it pulled. Adbrite.com is not under our umbrella of sites. Adbrite is a business partner, it is not an AVN entity.
Saying that, I will speak to them about whether or not they should be associated with a torrent site and hopefully come to a resolution. It is probably just a case of not monitoring inventory close enough.
In the meantime, if you would like to discuss with me further, feel free to send me a message on ICQ.

Thank you for the clarification, I was always told they were an umbrella company of AVN.

Why not discuss it here to show you as an industry leader are trying to do the right thing, and if they are a business partner doesn't that mean you are profiting from it aswell?

Pipecrew 05-31-2007 04:22 PM

Why buy torrent traffic, arent they the biggest freloaders? let people waste their money to learn that lesson.

I call bullshit. Adbrite is run with the same software, and is co-owned with AVN and Pud from fucked company. We have had this discussion before in the past, don't try to weasel you way out of it.

AVN has an ownership position, and as owners and supposed leaders in the industry, you folks need to either step up to the plate or deal with the fallout.

Quit squirming and "get'er done".

RawAlex 05-31-2007 05:50 PM

Oh my god, you gotta laugh at the balls the AVN people have.
