There was a rumor about Chicago packing Deng, PJ Brown and first rounder for Kobe, but I don't really think that will happen

That would be huge....

Kings are looking to rebuild too, maybe Artest and a draft pick???

Source: Kobe Tells Lakers He Would Approve Trade To Just One Team

New York Post -
A source tells Peter Vecsey of the New York Post that Kobe Bryant informed Lakers' ownership he would approve a trade to one specific team.

The source did not know which team Bryant marked.

Very interesting interview. Still don't think they can let Kobe go.
He does sound frustrated but at the same time he wants to stay
and win.

no kidding, he's the best player in the league... he's equal to like 90 percent of the Kings team, in one player....

sniperwolf 05-29-2007 06:41 PM

Rodent 05-29-2007 06:47 PM

Kobe AND Lebron on the Cavs? Aside from Lebron, Cleveland doesn't have the talent to trade for a player like Kobe.

The only reason LA traded Shaq for peanuts is because Kobe was going to walk if they didn't quickly dump Shaq. It wouldn't be the same story with a Kobe trade. Teams will have to give up serious talent to land Kobe.

PJ Brown is now an unrestricted free agent. So whoever said that isn't a credible source. However considering the Bulls talent and the inevitable future contract troubles (they can't re-sign all those guys), they may be in the best position to offer the most young value for Kobe. On the other hand I think some not-so-blockbuster trades for inside big man scoring would make the Bulls a better team than if they traded Deng and others for Kobe.

I don't think Kobe will be traded though. But if he is, my money is on Dallas or Phoenix. Those two teams have done everything they can to win a title, and it's just not happening. They need to make major moves.

Guess they meant on a S&T or something like that. Anyway, I don't see it happening, basically because who would Chicago end with? Hinrich, Gordon and Kobe? Talk about an ego clash. Plus they'd lose Deng, you don't know how Nocioni will heal (or not) so you'll have an overcrowded G position and no bigs. Not happening IMHO. Besides, Chicago is aiming towards Gasol or Garnett (and man, that will require some creativity to make it happen, esp on Garnett's case)

About Kobe with Dallas... Possible. Suns? No way. Unless Suns FO is out of their minds, they just need a tiny bit adjustment, getting Kobe would mean rebuild everything from the scratch, hence more years of waiting.

Personally I think Kobe is aiming towards cities more than teams, and then I'd say Chicago or New York. But in the case of Chicago, trade should include Gordon and not include Deng. We'll see. But I see Kobe out of Lakers as well, Robert Horry mentioned something yesterday as well.

JP513 05-29-2007 08:27 PM

Do a Google news search on kobe.

Big rumors are that he would go in even swap for Dirk Nowitzki.

I put odds on a Kobe/Dirk swap at 20% to happen.

TDF 05-30-2007 12:49 PM

todays revelation on espn makes me scared for the lakers. Now boneprone has unlimited ammo on me :(

Just_Dave 05-30-2007 12:52 PM

kobe is going to stay in la , west is coming back and they are going to get some real players to help kobe

axelcat 05-30-2007 01:05 PM

The only trade I see happenning if a trade was to be done would be to the sonics for ray allen and kevin durant the #2 pick of the draft.

CosmicTang 05-30-2007 01:24 PM

I can see Kobe going to NY, nowhere else has the ability to market him like LA does.

but i don't think he's going anywhere.

That would be interesting and possibly a win-win for both. Hard to see Dallas let go of Dirk though.

well, after Nowitzki's playoffs fiasco, everything is possible. Now he can be a real (f)Laker! :winkwink:

I doubt that very much.

D-Money 05-30-2007 03:20 PM

First of all, I highly doubt Cleveland would do a deal for Kobe, though I'd love to see that happen (if he has to leave LA).

So here's my suggestion of a trade for Cleveland/LA.

Kobe for (either Varajo or big Z, plus Damon Jones and either Sasha or Daniel Gibson)

Cleveland would have to give up a big guy and 2 guards.

I'd do that deal if I were Cleveland.

As much as I love those Cavs players, Kobe and Lebron would be super fun to watch.

I'll keep dreaming about it...

I could live with a Kobe for Z, Damon and Sasha trade. Although I would rather see Hughes go. He is dead weight and overpaid. But then where are we gonna find a Big Man, they are not easy to come by.

g$$$ 05-30-2007 03:50 PM

cant trade the franchise of the lakers...
although baron for kobe might be good....

Birdman33 05-30-2007 03:55 PM

They should get rid of kobe . He obviosly cant do shit. Who cares he is the scoring leader anyone can be with the amount of shots he takes. He was 210 in the leage in shooting % that has a lot to do with his team not wining. James took the cavs to the eastern confrence with nobody Imagin he had an odem where he would be. Just get rid of kobe while u can actually get somone for him. NO SHAQ NO RINGS NO PLAYOFFS

From Kobe's blog:

Wassup y'all ...

Man, today is one of those surreal days for me and my family. When you love something as much as I love the Lakers its hard to even imagine thinking about being elsewhere. But, the ONE THING I will never sacrifice when it comes to basketball is WINNING. That is plain and simply what it's all about. It's in my DNA. It's what pushes me to work as hard as I do. It's my daily passion and pursuit.

The more I thought about the future, the more I became convinced that the Lakers and me just have two different visions for the future. The Lakers are pursuing a longer-term plan that is different from what Dr. Buss shared with me at the time I re-signed as a free agent. I have seen that plan unfold for the last three years and watched great trade opportunities come and go, and have seen free agents passed on. That has led to the Lakers not winning a playoff series. All of that was frustrating in itself, but then, this week to have someone "inside" the Laker organization try to blame me in the media for us not being a contender right now -- that is what brought me to my current position today.

I want it to be clear that I still love, with all my heart, the Laker Legacy. From Mikan to West to Goodrich to Wilt to Kareem to Magic. That will never change. And the support my family and I have gotten from Lakers fans is undeniably the best. I will also always believe that.

But, now there is a new road ahead. I am gonna keep grindin and keep workin to get back to competing for Championships. Sometimes the trek up the mountain is tough. But, I know we'll get there.

Strength and Honor,
Kobe

The Cavs have a lot more talent than the Lakers. Even LBJ and his own teammate said Kobe is the best player in the league. No playoffs? They made the playoffs the last two years and almost upset a 3rd seed last year. You don't know what the fuck you are talking about. His scoring percentage was pretty good when he had that string of 50+ point games. Man, I hate people that talk shit about Kobe without the facts. Just about anyone who is anything in the NBA says Kobe is the best player. Lebronze should have been suspended for that elbow in game 1. The Lakers had a fuckload of injuries this year and Kobe carried them to the playoffs. Odom is the only other decent player on the team and he is no Ilgauskus, Hughes, Gooden, Pavlovic, Gibson, Varejao, etc. Lebronze needs to learn to play D and he shouldn't be mentioned in the same paragraph as Kobe till he wins 1 championship.

Mr. Mojo Risin 05-30-2007 08:04 PM

Kobe sells the most jerseys

Lebronze should be suspended:
