I used to be on WebAir, and my site was down all the time. Each time I was told something new for the better part of two years. Since moving TO Phat with some of my new projects I have been happy as hell, and more than happy to plug them.

Each new site I needed set up. Always done in less that an hour (10 or so thus far this year). I would get responses within 10 minutes, and never have needed to call.

I'll need some dedicated later this year for some other stuff in the works, and they have MORE THAN EARNED my business. :thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup

Common guys, there is no alternative to the best hosting company, I know that everyone will stay with webair cuz they know they wont find better hosting company ever, and if anyone will switch he will quickly find out that he made so wrong decision :)

are you joking?

LOL...I had a client put in a ticket to get a mysql database set up the other day and they took 5 DAYS to get it working correctly

webair is the "token" host of the adult industry, but they are not even close to being the best....in fact I would compare them to the godaddy hosting of the adult industry...mediocre at best

AliGbone 05-28-2007 01:16 PM

i been with da webair crew for years never had any issues with support i goto da chat they there, i call they there, i send in a ticket its resolved quick. I gots servers at all da majors and webair is by far da best. If dis is all i gots to deal with in 3-4 years being wit dem i'll take it. Was a shitty conversion day anyway! good day to have some downtime! cheers guys! :1orglaugh

5 days? that's weird, I do it by myself and it takes only 5 minutes and if I need something there is always online support that takes care of me immediately :) Well, I can only speak for myself.

At the moment I'm using Power360 Hosting (look Ma, no refcode!) and am quite happy with the 2.5 GB diskspace and 50 GB bandwidth they give me for $4.99 per month. They even have Zend installed, so you can run Zend encrypted scripts like Vanilla TGP, Comus (I think that's Zend encrypted anyway) and etcetera.

Seeing as I've just given you what sounds like a sales pitch, I may as well warn you that they are a bit slow to respond to support problems (in my book 30-60 mins per response is slow, but then I'm a demanding bastard) and I'm not quite sure if a problem I had the other night was because of their servers playing up, or just because I'd have been better off using dot.TK's custom DNS services. Other than that, sterling stuff for the price per month - I've not found any other host that can match that sort of price and provide me with the same amount of bandwidth.

It is so easy to set them up in the Webair control panel that even I - who has no clue when it comes to databases - has done it many times. It is an instant thing..fill in name, username, password and click - done.

took them 4 days to set up mysql, then another day to configure php to work with mysql

another experience from the TOP host in Adult.....HAHAHHAA...NOT!

Quote:

So I have decided to try webair hosting, so many people express their love and pride with that awesome and most professional host around. I needed only a little and simpe virtual account to get some new blogs online so I went with the Starter Plan for now having the future upgrades to dedicated host in mind.

The story started last week when I used the sales chat to get some more information. I learned the account creation is nearly instant, I can pay with epassporte etc. So I ordered the account on monday 12:20 webair time and got the confirmation. Four hours later, when I still had no information re payment, I used the chat again and got the customer service guy to solve the issue. So it was paid and promised to get activated shortly.

Six hours later I used the chat again to learn when the account will be open. Wow, that was finally created in like 30 minutes! Happy me :)

Ok, so the account works like charm - I have decided to use some Jace services as it was related to blogs installation and optimization. First thing that happened was that the webair panel was not working and I could not add the ftp account. So I have made the ticket asking support why it is not possible to add the account even with random username - the panel was giving the errors that the account name needs to be unique (even using 'dakdjhakshd' or similar was not working). After 13 hours I got a professional response informing me, that the account name has to be unique as it is virtual account. Coool! I have replied explaining what the word 'random' means and in only 5 hours (after using help of Gerard) I got the reply that the programmers are looking into this. Cool!!!!

Meanwhile Jace started to do his job and do the wordpress installation. It unfortunately occured that PHP has no support for MySQL, wow... Maybe they just forgot to compile this not important module at webair? Shit happens so ticket was created at aprrox 11 am. Only one hour later - the issue is resolved - I get the response that it is working now! Wow!!!! Ehhh, one issue though, it was not working...

During the conversation with Gerard, he tried to help me to get it solved. I do really appreciate his prefessionalism and help so the tickets started to be answered much faster. Meanwhile it occured that the poor tech could not guess which version of PHP I need, whether to use mysqli or mysql. When I explained him that even PHP5 should be compiled with mysql support, just for backward compatibility, not only with mysqli he finally agreed and decided to discuss it with the manager.

Cool! It finally works! Only 2 days passed and php is working in its default configuration! Wow....

So the conclusion is, if you have a low blood pressure and your doctor cannot fix it, go with webair! However, I do really want to tell, that Gerard was very helpful and took care of me and my shitty issues. He was just the only professional I have met there.

Vultures because we're responding to a direct request for hosting? Interesting.

If this was a host downtime and bashing thread I would agree with you. Its not.

I'd stay away from Power360 if I were you. I signed up for hosting with them and over 24 hours later it still wasn't set up and they don't answer support emails either. I have well over 30 sites hosted all over the world and I've never experienced any bullshit like that before.

Stick with Phatservers or Webair. They're both good.

Vendzilla 08-01-2007 07:56 AM

I have everything on Webair, I have a big dedicated box and it rox. If I have any kind of problem, they fix it, If I need something new, they add.
