drunkdollars,
I live in Austin, and its a great place to live. There are plenty of nice places to live in Austin. It depends on what you like and where you will be working. South Austin has some great neighborhoods, NorthWest Austin, and Central Austin all have their advantages. You could always live near the lake (Lake Austin, or Lake Travis). A good friend of mine is a real estate agent and would be glad to help you out. ICQ me at #: 66985399 |
San Antonio is an ok place to live... kinda on the boring side. =) Not as much variety in the women as you'd hope for, but... housing isnt that bad. Out of A-town and San An, Id say San An if you actually wanna get some work done, and we have some really nice office buildings around here.
2spy, have icq or an email? Id like to chat with ya a bit. =) |
NorthWest for sure. If you got the cash, west lake.
I personally think the south sucks ass. I'd rather live in Round Rock. |
I lived in San Antonio for a year and though it's a great place to visit, living there was pretty lame IMO.
Austin isn't too Bad. I know alot of people there and seem very happy with it... However for me, Houston is the place to be....:Graucho |
I suggest before you decide to move to Texas you visit the cities you are considering and speak to a few attornies about what it is you plan on doing there.
It was on the advice of 3 different attornies that I moved out of Texas and 2 of them were constitutional lawyers recomended to me by the first amendment lawyers association. There can be many problems with producing content, especially hardcore content in Texas. You will get a lot of differing opinions regarding this, but the simple fact is Texas is one of those states that is not porn friendly. Can you possibly get away with it? Sure. But as all 3 lawyers told me, we didn't want to have to be the test case, one way the government works in situations like these is they hit you in the pocket book. They may not necessarily win the legal battle, but if they keep you in court long enough they will win the financial one. Before packing up and relocating to Las Vegas I worked out a number of scenearios: We even considered producing the content elsewhere and bringing it back to Texas to edit and upload etc and all 3 attornies informed me at that point that if we were to use any models from Texas while producing this content we could be prosecuted under the Mann Act But there was not one idea we came up with that didn't present any problems working in Texas. This is not to say that there won't ever be any problems working anywhere. But you have to consider that Texas is a more conservative state and is part of the 5th circuit which is one of the more conservative of the 13 federal circuit courts not to mention their extremely conservative city, counties and the state government. |
austin rules. i know a lot of realestate agents if you need any direction. icq me if you need anything :thumbsup
