Spidey 3 has made over $800 mill worldwide already?

Sheeesh! The movie's only a few weeks old and globally it's hauled in this much already and has legs still to go.

I still don't know why it cost $250 million to make. There's nothing in it that looks like it cost that much.

Shit! I'd blow 250mil of someone elses money to make back 800 mil.
Fuck I live in Vegas, I used to blow $1500 tryin to make $1000 all the time.

It was relaeased worldwide on the same day as the US release. Most movies usually get released a few weeks or even months later in the rest of the world.

Movie costs just don't count special effects. I'm sure the director as well as the major stars got a HUGE paycheck. Also there is also promotion costs. Do you think billboards and TV ads are free?

Well of that $800 at 50% goes to the theaters. The studios actually get about half. Maybe 60% in this case since they usually get a bigger cut at first then the % favors the theaters as time goes on. So maybe about $450 mil for Sony so far. Still nearly $200 mil in profit. Kind of helps the offset the $300 they lose on every PS3 they sell.

The ad budget wasn't included in the $250 mill production budget.

So add another $100 mill for advertising.

The sales of upcoming DVDs, rentals will be half a billion easy.

It does my heart good to see Spidey as the number one superhero movie franchise. the other Marvel movies could take a lesson and keep the faith and see the rewards at the box office.

In the new Fantastic Four movie, they have the Silver Surfer, but if they don't have Galactus as he was designed it'll die on the vine.

They did that shit with The Hulk and fucked up that franchise.

They are coming out with another Hulk movie buts it not made by the same people. Edward Norton is going to play Bruce Banner this time.

Marvel Studios, which has a $525 million credit facility obtained through Merrill Lynch, made "The Incredible Hulk" its second film under that arrangement, and seeks to make a sequel that is less self-serious and more in line with the comic series and TV show. Leterrier directed the action-filled "Transporter 2," and "Unleashed."

The new pic begins with Banner on the run, trying to avoid capture long enough to cure the condition that turns him into a misunderstood green menace.

release date is set for June 13th 2008

I forgot to add that Liv Tyler plays his girlfriend

GatorB 05-27-2007 07:34 PM

I also forgot

Tim Roth has been cast as Emil Blonsky, the Abomination's alter ego and the Hulk's gamma-powered arch-nemesis

That's just amazing....

Yes, at a Marvel meeting they told us all about the new Hulk franchise. Believe you me, this time around the Hulk will be the Hulk!

With the money Marvel is making they'll soon be producing their own movies on a major scale. They have endless characters and if they keep true to form they'll be dominating the box office for decades. I fear however the crossover movies to come.

Daredevil is being revived also. Look for more cool Marvel news soon.
