When They Hang Up Without Saying Good Bye In Movies

When They Hang Up Without Saying Good Bye In Movies...Does That Really Happen in any real life situation? It's usually in soap operas and and movies but come on...How often does that happen in real life? If someone hung up on me with no advanced sign that the "hang up" is coming I would consider that rude. No one I have ever met is cool enough to pull the hang up with no warning shtick...please. How did that become a regular part of tv?
How did this cliche become so popular ?

I used to be friends with a girl who never, ever said goodbye. She'd just hang up every time. It bugged the shit out of me.

No, it's rude.

LOL I have thought this many times. The other one is "let's meet tomorrow". Meet where? And when?

I always say "Hey, do me a favor, and tell me if this sounds like me hanging up" then I hang up.

If a movie is supposed to be engaging and realistic, it should come off that way. Unrealistic (or uncommon) endings to conversations don't reflect that.

When I get tired of talking with someone I hang up WHILE I'm saying something. That way they think the call was lost or we were disconnected.

Good answer.

Other things about movies & TV that bug me:

Only on TV and in movies do you see the cars on a freeway or busy city street all perfectly spaced out so the vehicles in the chase scene can bob and weave in and out with no obstruction.

"I'll have a beer"
I understand that they don't want to get brand-specific, but in any bar in the real world the waitress is going to ask you "What kind?" :D

The phonecall hangup with no goodbye has always bugged me.

Actually in some situations, like with Mayor and I who talk on the phone alot, sometimes multiple times in a day one of us might call with a question and then hangup as soon as the other answers the question and no thought of a formal hangup, just a "cool" or "ok".
