Blackberry Owners

Okay, I've had 3 blackberries and now I have the pearl, they have all been cool except for one really annoying feature:

if the battery gets low, the phone radio shuts off. But the bad part is, when this happens, you have to charge the phone for 20 goddamn minutes before it lets you make calls

oh, you can use the camera and games and everything else while the phone is in low battery mode, but no calls... So if I ever get lost in the woods and my battery is low, I can't call for help, but I can take a picture of myself flipping RIM (blackberry mfg) off.

This is my last blackberry I think - I love all the other features but this one fucking pisses me off consistently... if the fucking phone is plugged in and charging you should be able to make calls, not wait for half an hour:2 cents:

I've had 10 different Blackberries and haven't had any issues with any of them. Have you upgraded the OS on yours recently? If not then you might want to update the OS on it and see if that fixes your battery problem. I've had a few clients that's had random issues that a OS upgrade fixed. Hit me up on ICQ if you need help.

Blackberry is a stand up top notch guy :error

got the same problem on the pearl

One of my tips is to turn the radio off if I'm in a zone where the signal does not pickup. I found that the blackberry would waste a lot of battery trying to pickup the signal.

I feel you, the best phones are the 8700 and 8800, i wonder why you got the pearl, unless a present, its small and thekeyboard is a pain in the ass.

Get a TREO 700WX. No RIM but works flawlessly and has much more functionality and control over it's "features".

skoalman 05-25-2007 01:45 PM

What carrier are you with? The 8700's are the best models so far.

Humpy Leftnut 05-25-2007 01:46 PM

Does the treo have a touchscreen and stylus?

Wizzo 05-25-2007 01:46 PM

It was actually an impulse buy, I hadn't had a blackberry in about a year before this. I think it's a cool little phone, I like the look too - I'll go to the cingular store and check out the other blackberries.

But I'm still set on getting iPhone.. lol, just for fun, not work.

Blackberries are the bane in the butt of humanity.

i'm on my 4th blackberry. te only problem i ever had was with my first 7250. it kept rebooting for no reason. i got another one, and it worked fine until i smashed it off a table. got a third one, and kept that till i got my treo.

after two months of having the treo, i wanted something that worked. so i got the new 8703e. i've never had that low battery problem you're describing with any of my bb's. maybe it is just something unique to the pearl?

Pete-KT 05-25-2007 02:24 PM

Ive never had thqat issue wth my blackberries, must be a setting your using

skoalman 05-25-2007 02:31 PM

The only reason I've had 10 over the years is because I've been given them by a old client of mine. The 7250 that I have now from Verizon could be used as a hockey puck and still work. I've had Treo's and they just sit in a drawer after the constant resets. I hate windows mobile with a passion so I don't even keep any of those devices around if I'm given one.

The 8800 is a solid device and I've had nothing but great feedback from clients and friends that have that device.
