Back from NYC
 

Took a 4 day family vacation there (stayed in midtown at the Grand Central Hyatt) and was pretty amazed at how much the city has changed for the better. It's been nearly 9 years since our last visit and I couldn't get over how much cleaner and friendlier the city has become. Didn't want to leave. Did a bunch of touristy things for a change (as opposed to just clubbing and slumming it) and even tho I called LA home for such a long time... I think this last NYC visit finally won me over as the better city.

Sounds like it may be time to make a return trip to Broadway and 42nd Street.

I remember the good old days of going to the "Entertainment District" at three in the morning and seeing little kids running around unattended while their mommas worked the streets til the sun came up!

Good for you Jay.
I have never been to New York for the reason I was too scared to go on my own. I have heard so many stories of tourist beeing trapped in a bad neighbourhood.

Glad it changed, I would really like to visit one of these days

Time Square is like Disney Land now a days!!!

Hope you checked broadway out, I reccommend the show "Wicked" and have to say I loved the "Lion King" as well. If you didn't go see a show you have a good reason to go back. NYC is the "CITY"

Yeah I have to go there this weekend, hopefully the W is fun.

I was in NYC in 2005 for a week. First time to the city and I loved it. Planning on going back hopefully early next year.

I think NYC is a better city to visit but not to live at all,IMO.

Didn't do any shows this time unfortunately but it's definitely on the agenda for next time. Having a 3 yr. old kid in tow is a crap shoot when trying to sit and enjoy something a few hours long.

I always used to feel that way... not so much anymore.

I've lived in NY and LA (Studio City/West Hollywood & Marina Del Rey).

NY beats the crap out of LA. Sure, the sun & beach is nice and all but if you are a young guy that's interested in money and activity then NY is much better.


If you are a married rich guy then LA is better for you.
