Could be fraud or even people charging back some new and recurring. Unfortunately this is how it goes, on top of that some companies charge us a fee sometimes upwards of $50.00 to process the chargeback. Most places, if your a long time affiliate will wipe it clean with you but chargebacks are a serious issue and at the company and processor level we do everything possible to limit chargebacks, even offer refunds, incentives and more. So unfortunately your battle was lost and all that can be done is recoup the costs from the sale. It could be an accounting error, or database issues - just keep emailing away and hopefully someone in here will address your issue.

It's likely it's a chargeback from the same customer or returned checks
|
But aside from this....any problems promoting Bangbros? Does it convert well?

its a tough issue, on one hand why should you get paid if someone charges back.. on the other hand if the user stays a member for a year why shouldnt you get more than $35, when you go pps , they are eating the chance thast the user cancels after the trial or charges back or just doesnt recurr when its revshare it just a percentage so its alot more fair
the problem is if you make a threshhold like sponsor s have to play by ( i.e. how many chargeback they get to do ) scammers will exploit this for example , most sponsor billing have to stay under a certiain amount of chargebacks or their merchant will charge them higher rates or withhold more of the money so lets say just for example that its 15% so if 2/10 signups for any given affiliate are chargebacks they are above the merchant threshold thus not only not making money but COSTING money. so if sponsors pass along the same threshold to their affiliates ( i.e. 15% ) then scammers will intentionally "card - aka use stolen credit card ) to fake 1/10 memberships knowing they are staying at 10% chargebacks under the threashhold. easiest way is to do what bangbros did is take the cash out of the account unless you go ver some unknown threshold in that case they will can you as a carder. it sucks and as pps they should really eat it , as revshare they are doing YOU a favour by only charging you the membership price.. because in the end its costing them money ie it should be costing you money as its revshare. to simplifiy it , if you had 5 signups and all 5 chargeback , taking back the money you made doesnt cover it, you would actually owe them a few dollars.. |
On a semi related note, when a customer charges back, a program generally eats the processing fee, resulting in a negative $ amount from the sale.
Example: If a member is charged $30 for a membership, and the program is at 15% processing fees, it costs $4.50 just to process the transaction. If the member does a chargeback, the member gets back their entire $30, but the program does not receive the $4.50 transaction fee back, resulting in -$4.50 for the sale. Chargebacks are bad for business. so most are proactive in taking care of the suspect sales as credits within the allotted window. If after that point, if the sale is indeed fraudulent, it will come back to bite the program hard. Someone also mentioned bounced checks, which I know from experience account for over 90% of our refunded amounts. There are three different types of "refunds". 1) Chargebacks - where a customer makes a claim that they did not receive the service promised 2) Credits - Possibly from cancelled immediately after the sale, or refunded from the programs end. 3) Returned checks - A check or ACH that is returned to the processor for insufficient funds/false information/fraud. Actual chargebacks are by far the worst. For most programs to stay in good standing chargebacks are supposed to be near under 1% of the total gross. I know this post is a little off tangent, and I have no idea about BangBros setup, but those are just some basics. |

As i explained the sponsor eats a fee so they are losing money by JUST taking back the money , they should actually be taking back MORe, BUT this should only apply to revshare , a PPS sponsor should eat the cost untill the affiliate breaks a ration and is cut from the program. I had it happen with a sponsor before. brand new sponsor , first day promoting them got 3 sales in , canned me next day , seems 1 or 2 of them charged back. hey it happens , i switched to another sponsor and did fine 10-20 sales a day, they never had a problem with cb's. So i guess their measures worked but perhaps a bit too hard as they lost a great affiliate because they didnt want to eat 1 or 2 cb's |
So then... wouldnt a company wrather lose a $35 plus a few cents then lose an affiliate who brings them thousands and thousands of dollars each month ?

I also have been promoting Bangbros for about a year now (baitbus) and i have got some pretty great (almost unheard of) ratios with them. 1:11 over all with baitbus the past few months or so 349 sales. http://img2.putfile.com/thumb/5/14321485449.jpg |

OK, gotcha . . . thanks.

If you're using PPS and got a chargeback -$35 would make sense... if using revshare, some customers charge back a few months.

Bangbros appears to count something close to join page clicks, so their ratios tend to look VERY good indeed. But if you count the outgoing clicks yourself, you will have a better idea of the real numbers. They still do pretty well overall.
However, I noticed that I couldn't access some of their sites today, which could raise issues. I am sure they will have it sorted out soon. |
