A Russian man out walking his dog found £350,000 under a pile of leaves.

Yuri Lavrov found the money stashed in a plastic bag after his pet Labrador began sniffing and scratching as he walked through the forest near Chita in Siberia.

But Lavrov handed the cash over to cops who later identified it as part of haul from a recent bank robbery in the city.

They said the money had been stashed in the forest by one of the robbers who had been planning to come back for it.

Five men have been arrested in connection with the robbery.

He is just respecting the LAW.

My guess is cause he is human like the rest of us.

He was afraid of the law finding out, hidden cameras, set ups, ect and turned it in. Otherwise like nearly everyone else it would of been pocketed.

I have no idea what you meant saying "the rest of us", because I would did the same thing. There is no law in Russia that allows one to keep the "treasure" he/she found (doesn't matter if it's "dirty" or not) in a same way as it doesn't allow to steal the money form someone's pocket, kill a human or do other illegal things. Do you and "the rest of you" don't rob and kill just because you are afraid of the law finding out, hidden cameras, set ups, etc? :helpme

I just recalled one case however. When is was some big blackout in one of the US cities (I believe it as LA) the ppl there started to rob the markets, crash storefronts etc. So I think that fear of hidden cameras, set ups etc is a major thing in the States. However... I don't remember such cases here in Russia (including the similar blackout about 2 years ago in Moscow due to some serious crash on one the Moscow's power stations)

So I believe it's just a difference in our mentality. Some people afraid the law, but others just respect it :2 cents:

Good news for a change . . . cuz everything I watch the evening new all I see and heard are crimes and violence or something else.

What stupid ass would hide the cash so it could easily be founs, what a dumbass. To pull of a heist and then fail so miserably hiding the money.

£450,000 was reported stolen, £420,000 was stolen, £390,000 was turned in and £350,000 was reported as found.
