If you as a webmaster or webmistress were invited to go on the jerry springger show would you do it? Don't ask me why im asking there is a reason but would you do it?

Back in 1996, I was asked to go on Jenny Jones and turned it down.

I think going on Springer would be a huge mistake. Nothing good ever comes from Springer.

I would use the free airline ticket to LA or NY or where ever the hell the studio is located and not appear on the show. Go on a short vacation instead.

If you have a TgP it is definitely worth it. If you could say "My biz has ruined our relationship because of all the free naked pics and movies I see daily on ... .com" ! Or just say anything like that repeatedly! As long as you have a catchy domain you will have a site that will get hit with traffic and it will build through word of mouth quickly.

All of the guests aren't actors. Just the outlandish ones.

I say go for it, but they won't let you advertise your website. I've never seen a porn webmaster get a free ride like that on TV whether it's MSNBC or a talkshow.

BUT.... you would be able to mention it on your website at least. Maybe even an "As seen on Springer" graphic, which would be cool.

Definatly not Jerry Springer. Probably not any of the other ones as well. Jenny Jones seems to ask about once a year for BBW webmistresses to talk about "fat acceptance" then just get booed by the audiences.

2 or 3 years ago there were some adult webmistresses on Jenny Jones. Her show worked a deal with Gramma to get a few mature ladies on the show, for this crazy episode about how moms and grannies needed to keep their clothes on.

I don't remember the exact specifics other than Cassidy and I cannot remember who else, had a gig going where one was the slut and the other one was bitching about it, wanting her to 'clean up her act' -- of course she also had a site of her own so the whole thing was one big gag.

Now the rest of the gag is that they completely cut out the urls, including the promised promotional spots for Gramma by the time the show aired.

Moral of the story is not just don't believe everything you see on tv, don't believe the tv producers when they promise you stuff, even in writing. Once the show airs you can't do much about re-editing it.

They probably make you change your shirt before you went on the air. I doubt that they're stupid enough to let you advertise your site for free. At the very least, they'd block out the url to protect the kiddies at home, just like they block out all the boobies.

Go if, and only if, you can handle your neighbors, family and people you went to high school with knowing not only what you do for a living, but having it presented in the most sensationalist light imaginable. A paid vacation and $90/day stipend may not be all that great if you come back to a petition that forces you to move.

Don't expect a sudden influx of traffic from the appearance unless you have a short, memorable and unambiguous domain name (this is one of those few situations that hyphenated names will hurt you!) and you can figure out how to work it repeatedly into your conversation. At the hotel they put you up at and during the limo ride to the studios you'll meet at least two people who regularly do these kind of appearences. Talk with them and get some pointers on how to promote in this setting ahead of time. In fact, hang around the hotel bar as soon as you arrive and look for your fellow webmasters, suggest a party if you encounter them and network!

If this is your first time in front of the camera, they'll know it! A very extensive database is maintained that contain detailed notes on each and every person that appears on these shows. As an "unknown", you'll be watched very closely. If you go with flow, with no unpleasent surprises, you'll be invited to any number of other, similar shows. However, there aren't any second chances, you lose it once and that's it.

I'll pass. Maybe if I was a hot chick and could tell my website name on there to make a bunch of money, maybe.

Yea I was on montel shhh lol well after talking to some close friends here and doing a lot of thinking I am going to pass on this.. I didnt think this all the way through and THANK god I do have friends cause the way my luck is and has been I would end up in jail or something. They didnt like me from the start they hated me when I was on the news/cnn/montle/radio and they hate me know since the news reported i was an adult webmaster a year ago so The shame has allready been and gone and Nothing will shame me anymore. If im doing something then IM PROUD OF IT. Eh/ IM weird But the people that stated something about kids that is my biggest worry now since they are starting to get older I do need to keep low key about shit...
