Just had a sponsor check - dated 2005
 

The check just came and it has the date of 2005-10-07 ..about three days ago I got a check from the same company for the exact same amount of money and dated 2007 - what should one do in this position? I certainly don't want to rip anybody off if something went wrong with their system.

I think the 2005 check isn't valid anymore. They probably even cancelled them..

I had this happen and contacted the sponsor.

They said 'just bank it, if we made a mistake then we will eat it'

They were more grateful for me being honest than the cheque...

That is mad strange... You contact that sponsor?

Sent an icq but no response as yet..though I did find an email amongst my many sponsor mails saying it it was a program wide problem and they were sending out new checks. Now, I have two checks..guess I need to shred the 2005 one?

I would destroy the 2005 check and cash the 2007 check.

If it is good, why not cash it?

because the 2007 check was sent as a correction for the 2005 check..so, I am trying to be honest as they are just correcting an error
