Question about a Coming Soon Page?

I am launching a website that is under construction...when it launches it will be a members site and of course generate money however the splash coming soon screen is not making me any money.....

Can I use any song that I want as some sort of audio on the page and not be sued? (of course either obtaining rights or removing the song when I do start to make money)

Thnx

Not making money from a page doesn't mean you can publish something you don't own the rights for without legal consequences.

Example: Filesharing doesn't make those who share copyrighted files money, but they distribute/publish them, and that itself is illegal.

Use a song without the rights to it and you can get sued.

comming soon pages are worthless, people dont come back in a week to se if there are something there then. Either you have a page or you dont. End of story.

Its really just a page holder... I already registered my desired domain names for the year and now I just want something to hold its place and an actual destination for the website when I print my new business cards listing the url. so that if they were to immediatley go to the url on the card they would see a splash screen and then if they did return in a month or so the site would be there.

I dont really expect potential members to see a coming soon page a freak out and mark their calender...thats where my ad campaign comes in.

Why would anyone want to hang around a page with no content and listen to some song YOU think they'll enjoy unless you're a band, this is a band website you're talking about and anyone arriving at your page probably has a good idea of what's there - or coming soon?

The average lifespan of an unsolicited business card is 30 seconds so unless you're handing them out to someone physically sitting at a computer - it's probably safe to say no one is going to "immediately" visit your site.
