too busy bein stoopid an young for the last few years i got remainin to be stoopid and young, kinda, and still waste money till its all over. i guess i will be not too far behind ya to be honest. cr is where i would be for sure though to be honest. great foundations there and in panama. both great spots to plant yourself. i'd guess that i'd be in cr in about 4-5 years. i can only party in hollywood and l.a. for so long. i'll be ready to bounce and become and asset accordingly in about that time frame. |

Costa Rica's real estate boom was over 2 years ago, crime's been rising for 3 years now and the entire country is one big tourist trap full of people who don't much like gringos and are happy to rip you off at every opportunity.
But have fun... Panama is the #1 real estate market in the world, there is less crime here than in any US city and every major CANADIAN city. This country won't be one big tourist trap full of people who don't much like gringos for at least another 5 years. |

Na.. doubt that is a problem p1mpdogg - it's mainly serious crime (murder, fraud, rape, child offenses, drugs et al). The local Interpol office do a check for this in conjunction with immigration services. PS Nobody's driving can be worse than here *lol* |
is the cocaine there really good? it must be, its right in line with the import route, cant be stomped on that much at that point.
fuck yea, CR here i come! |

LE here work with other law agencies both south and north of CR (and up to the US). Even here, they are kinda sophisticated tho you'd never guess by seeing this country. Had some LE friends visting from the US and saw a "demo" of some elements. Example... despite the country can be *very* heavy in rainforest in parts (the kinda territory where people get lost and never seen again) - they can still track down routes by bugging and satellite positioning systems - eg an undercover plant can be working with transporters and just dropping small "bugs" along the way. This is picked by by satellite and if the "bug dropping" stops - can mean a problem etc.. There was one incident a while back which even amazed the locals. A small boat came into a bay. This boat had been followed from the south and on route to .. guess where? Once the boat was in the bay a copter appeared and started machine fire around the boat. The occupants started dumping packages overboard and did not appear willing to give up. Anyways... they did give up in the end, but who knew Costa Rica even had armed helicopter??? *lol* People were picking up the packages of "stuff" which had been dumped overboard - and seriously doubt much of it was passed on to the law :-) When asked why the contents of the boat seemed sparse, the law guy says... "The tide was going out...." Hell, it always is when there are drugs floating in the water :pimp |
Seriously look into the crime issues.. People there don't live behind prison style security fences for nothing. Some here claim there are no issues, but really why is it they always tell you "not to do anything stupid".
I was going to go to CR but I'm going to curacao insted. |

Unfortunately, the main source of crime is from folks living here illegally and who have "escaped" Nicaragua to try and earn a better living here. It's hardly surprising they have to resort to theft to stay alive - but the govt is fairly tolerant of them, but cracking down and shipping them back home. Other prob major source of crime on a higher level is from immigrants (legal one's) who get involved in... all kinds of stuff.. drugs dealings, fraud etc. These folks are mainly from the US and, it's often the case they already have existing warrants issued in the US. One woman from the NY area I knew who had been living here for around 12 years, - butter would not melt in her mouth :) She had since married (to a high profile person in the car biz). One day a group of masked/armed officers arrived on her doorstep to arrest her for a .. think it was around $12mill fraud in the US years back and where a US judge had an outstanding warrant. She was shipped by to the US to stand trial and nobody talks about that :) Curaçao and the islands are not much different - it may take other forms, but they still seem to attract "escapees" from other nations. You just have to select who you care to mix and associate with - there are people you speak to and others you don't want to go near with two sets of rubber gloves on. |
can i pet the wild monkeys?
|
im also planning on moving to CR soon. Anyone know how tolerant LE is towards people shooting porn?
Are the prison style fences and armed guards really necessary? |
