how in the fuck did this happen? (car related)

Last night i was driving like 60-70kph about 3km from my house and i hear a clunking like a flat tire...

I check the car, all tires are fine, rear end looks fine at first glance, and i even tightened lugnuts on the wheels

i take the car to mechanic today, somehow a bolt that holds the subframe/diff to the frame of the car ripped out completely on one side :(

my mechanic said he's never seen anything like it

yes, its a common BMW problem - for a while they were repairing that for free. ask your dealer about that

the car isn't under warranty at all

sicone 05-19-2007 01:50 PM

does not have to be under warranty if there was a recall to fix that issue
