Domination for sure..Not looking good

DTK 05-18-2007 08:57 PM

Nice pic ;) but i wouldn't call it a meltdown... The Spurs are far and away the best team in the league this year. Nobody has an answer for them.

Sly 05-18-2007 08:59 PM

The Spurs defense is just so damn tight. I always kind of wonder though, when you see your teammate being trapped... shouldn't you move around and try to help him out? It seems so often like the Suns just stand there and stare while Nash gets gangbanged.

I think the Suns move without the ball very well. It's just another testament to the Spurs' D.

On another note, I think they got fully screwed on the Horry thing. The rules are the rules, but no matter how you slice it, they got the worst of Horry's cheap shot.

i would agree if the game was a blowout but they had a chance to win and didnt finish last game....

Sly 05-18-2007 09:08 PM

I am convinced Michael Finley is a machine.

Yeah, but they were short an all-star and another core guy..that meant they had to ask 60+ minutes from everyone else. Nash, Marion and Bell each played 46-47 minutes so they had to be totally gassed at the end. And james jones had to play 30 minutes when he really should be playing 10 minutes.

Spunky 05-18-2007 09:11 PM

Nash for prime minister..maybe next year

sniperwolf 05-18-2007 09:12 PM

I've been pulling for them too after my Warriors lost. They're a fun team to watch. Like you say, rules are rules and I agree, but there's just something wrong about how the suspensions went down. Maybe there should be a little more leeway for the league office to use their best judgement instead of rigid adherence to a rule?

Daruma 05-18-2007 09:20 PM

oh well.........

next year

if the suns suspensions were two games like horry i could see changing them to one...but they had to be punished, and the only way to do it was with a one game suspension...it's the playoffs and they should be disciplined enough to let it go til someone expendable came in for the flagrant foul for knocking out rob's front teeth:2 cents:

Nope. I think this was the last straw for the current Suns lineup. They've shown yet again that they can't get it done when it counts.

Time to reload and hope to compete for the title again when the Spurs and Mavs are older. Otherwise it's going to be the same thing for the next three or four years.

VexXxed 05-18-2007 09:44 PM

Nash caught 8 stitches that took him out of game 1 in the closing minutes = reason for losing home court.

Stoudamire & Diaw got tossed on a bullshit technicality.

Suns are the better team, they just didn't have a chance to play as a team in the most critical moments of the series.

Spurs vs Pistons = Pistons in 6

They could sure use a few good bench defensive players. Pull in someone like a Camby. Aside from Barbosa, the bench is pretty weak.

The suns have a great unit, they just need a decent backup for Nash.

Who has the best bench in the league?

San Antonio is pretty damn solid. Utah has some great players. Dallas isn't too bad at all, I really like Stackhouse.

As Sly said, they have no bench. In this last game, only three bench players entered the game.

They've got a high draft pick this year. I could see them unloading a couple starters to round out the roster a little better. If for whatever reason it's not working for the starters, they currently have no other options.

GO Spurs GO!

Barbosa really played great today... well for the Spurs

hezochiah 05-18-2007 10:18 PM

The suspensions for the Suns sucked but I understand that a rule is a rule and if you suspend people consistently for leaving the bench then you can't just change it all of a sudden. What does bother me is when people bring up that no San Antonio players left the bench after the Horry foul. Do you think maybe that's because it wasn't their player that got knocked into the scorers table. I mean come on, that argument makes no sense to me.

I also thought it was funny that when Nash got his nose split open in Game 1 it was Parker who was on the ground for over a minute and Nash was checking to see if he was okay when he had blood streaming down his face.

Although I'm not happy with the outcome of the series I have to say that I'm definitely impressed with how the Suns played and never gave up. To almost win Game 5 short Amare and Diaw and then be down 20 points in Game 6 to come back and at least make it interesting near the end was nice to see. Hopefully the Hawks pick will be 4 or lower and we can maybe get another inside player to help Amare out and plus with the other 2 picks later in the first round we should be able to get some decent players.

I'll take the spurs for $100 if you're up for it

You should kindly remind them that earlier in the game Duncan stepped onto the court during a slight "altercation", if you will, that did involve one of the Spurs. I believe Bowen did as well.

Rules should be guidelines, not hard restrictions. Yes, people will bitch here and there, but since they're already bitching about the rules being followed to the T they may as well cut back on the strictness and make the game more exciting with less fouls. Too many damn fouls being called, let's just play ball!
