Shrek The Third...review

I actually fell asleep 5 times during this movie.

I couldn't believe it was so damned boring.

Nothing like the first two. I realized it wasn't directed
by the same director of the first two either. It had a few
chuckles and a few laughs but it had this boring, whiney
Justin Timberlake character that was so fucking stupid
and useless I just snoozed off and from what I gather
I wasn't the only one in the theatre.

Actually, this movie was so bad it made Spider-Man 3 look
good.

Ugh. Great. Was going to take a bunch of kids to go see it because they've been bugging me about it. Dunno if I should still take them after hearing that.

HAPPYPEEKERS 05-18-2007 08:23 PM

blaaaa.. I am supposed to take the kids to see it tomorrow... that sucks

DOCTOR 30 05-18-2007 08:33 PM

Hey, the kids might like it. For me and the rest of the audience it was a snoozer.

Most of the movie was about Prince Charming and Justin Timberlake as King Arthur. Two blonde whiney guys took up most of the screen time. It was like being stuck in Britney Spears' head during a psychotic break.

The sad part is they are planning on making 2 more sequels, as well as a Puss N Boots (or whatever Antonio Banderas character is called) spin-off movie.

lusciousness 05-18-2007 08:53 PM

oh great...i've been waiting to see that :disgust:

Kevin Marx 05-18-2007 08:58 PM

isn't it great when a movie doesn't get great reviews but it may still make 100 million on the first day?

SPACE GLIDER 05-18-2007 09:02 PM

It doesn't measure up to the first two at all.

BlondeBecks 05-18-2007 09:08 PM

Man I'm sooo glad now that I'm sending my kid with her best friend and his parents so that I don't have to sit through it after that review.

It's sort of a bad deal for us fans though. It's called a 'Hype Ride'. A project gets some hype and instead of living up to it they do the lazy job instead. They know they'll make a good amount on the hype alone so why work?

Wrong director on the project is what this was.

Spidey 3's excuse is that the corporation interfered with the story for merchandizing reasons.

i actually liked the freaky Snow White. the part where she sings like good ol' SW, then all the animals come, and then she goes psychoy. yeah, that was cool. :thumbsup

Yes! If it had more of that instead of that dragged on drawn out ninny shit with Charming and Arthur then it would have been psycho cool like the first two movies.

Th!nk 05-19-2007 02:28 PM

Die Hard 3 kicked ass :thumbsup

Miguel T 05-19-2007 06:05 PM

I wanna see it myself..

Screaming 05-19-2007 06:12 PM

yep.. it wasent anywhere near as good as 1/2

RawAlex 05-19-2007 06:17 PM

I went to see it last night with a group of friends, and honestly, it wasn't half bad. The kids will enjoy it to a point, but really you have to be a certain age to get many of the jokes that are in this one.

The quality of the animation is stunning, the story is simple enough for kids to follow, and there are enough jokes to keep most people in the game. As good as the first 2? Nope. But I have seen some serious stinker movies in the last couple of years and this one was a reasonable movie that didn't disappoint me .

Recommendation: See it if you have to, otherwise get it on DVD and don't worry, it will be a good rainy saturday movie for the kids.

HAPPYPEEKERS 05-19-2007 07:27 PM

I took the kids to the movies today.. Shrek was playing on 3 different screens.. they were sold out for all shows all day..

My kids were so upset :-(

You too? I know I fell asleep around 5 times! Never, ever happened to me in a movie yet and I've seen some real crappy movies.

I just got bored when there were these long ass moments of dialogue and no gags.

Besides, Justin Timberlake is boring enough in real life and as a cartoon he took that boredom to the second power.

Fap 05-19-2007 10:03 PM

Thanks for the heads up

NaughtyRob 05-19-2007 10:43 PM

Just saw it tonight with my fiance, all the kids that were there loved it, they were laughing the whole time, as were we, if you just get into it and don't think about work and your day to day life its a fun movie.
