What ever it was, I'm sure they can satisfy the invoice.

Steve Awesome 05-18-2007 07:07 PM

Fuck! Luckies!

HeadPimp 05-18-2007 07:08 PM

It would be damn cool to make a find like that. Most of the time these days the finds are by well financed companies though. Not something that the average guy can go out and stumble on. I would love to do it, but lack the massive bank roll for equipment, and I live in the wrong area. Not as many treasure wrecks up here in the Northwest.

I'm hoping to be in on a little of that kinda action next year. My uncle is partners in a salvage operation and they do that kind of treasure hunting. I was on his boat back in 91 and we found a bunch of stuff but couldn't bring it up at that point.

Now everything is worked out with the local govt, so we are going back this coming year. I hope I can get back on the boat this time because it should be a nice find and a nice payout.

this was one of the wrecks we found then..

A jet chartered by Tampa-based Odyssey Marine Exploration landed in the United States recently with hundreds of plastic containers brimming with coins raised from the ocean floor, Odyssey co-chairman Greg Stemm said. The more than 500,000 pieces are expected to fetch an average of $1,000 each from collectors and investors.

I invested a couple thousand a few years ago in Odyssey (OMR), looks like their stock is on the rise again.

wee :D

ADL Josh 05-21-2007 06:14 AM

damn, nice little find there!!

MrChips 05-22-2007 03:55 AM

The british government applauds them - and rubs their hands together.

xcitecash 05-22-2007 04:02 AM

flooding the valuable coin market with that many coins will drive that price down so the estimate is way over IMO

Danny B 05-22-2007 04:03 AM

Wow, $500 million. That's a lotta coins.
