I've got a check dated 8/1/2002. I went to the bank to cash it and they say "sorry, we cannot cash this check for you, it's from January" and I reply "no, it's from August" and they go "no, look, it says January", so I begin to lose my patience "You stupid bank person, this check is from US and this is how they write the first of August", but then he runs away to find his manager and the manager tries to call someone in the US bank but cannot get through (the idiot probably never realized it was the middle of the night there) and I have to wait while they run around like chickens with their heads chopped off. Finally when they asked me for the tenth time I said "YES! YES! I'm absolutely and positively sure that this damn check is from August, now give me my fucking money!" and they agreed.

Gee, could you US guys spell out the date? Or even better learn to wire money... Because if I go there next month with a check that says 9/1/2002 and they say "it's from January" I'm going to explode.

Or you could find a sponsor in your area and not bitch about or date system. :thumbsup

you have a few options:

Promote a sponsor that pays on the 15th
Promote a sponsor that allows wire
Or if you really dont want any problems promote a dialer you'll never have to worry about checks.

Yes, wire would be nice, but unfortunately this option is not as common in US as in Europe. As an extra bonus I wouldn't have to pay the $12 fee to cash the check...

The only people in the US that write this way are the military - and they usually spell it out 1-aug-02 or something like that.

My bank would probably give me the same problem with a european check.

I tried to deposit a check from a canadian company once and the people at my bank were telling me they would have to put it on hold for extra time. I explained that it WAS a canadian company, but look at the bank - it was a US bank.

She said - "well Canada is not in the U.S."

Like I didn't know that - so she called someone and started counting the numbers at the bottom in order to figure out - yes it was a US Check.

yes kink they never pay and if you do get a check don't bother fighting about the date it will most likly bounce because they are moving to a huge building,

The only huge building they are moving too is a federal prison, by the way one of the big dialers has the feds running around these guys will be suprised it aint even funny
