Regarding Iraq, what pisses you off more?

The fact that we should have never invaded and now we're stuck in the middle of a civil war......

or

That the French were right all along?

That we invaded at all.. I was against the war before it ever started. The French were right? lol na the French weren't right about anything, the French and the Russians were against the Iraq invasion because they had deals going with Saddam and were making money from him.

Had their been money in attacking Iraq for the French or the Russians, they would have quickly jumped on board. They aren't anybetter than the US govt, it's all about money on either side of the coin.

No, nothing new... but nothing has been such a blatantly obvious lie either. And yet people still supported it.

If you're going to lie to me, don't let me know it's a lie.

latinasojourn 05-17-2007 07:32 PM

the total lack of understanding of the arabic culture, and the idealized belief that anything close to an american style democracy would (will) work there.

if you've ever tried to do business with camel jockeys you will know that they are the most miserable, lying, two-faced, nasty sons-of-a-bitches on earth.

and that just isn't the ones you'll encounter in america, that's the experience you'll get when dealing with them any where in the world.

you cannot make a deal with them, because their word is no good. they are mostly arrogant, argumentative, and naturally combative. everyone i know (in business) hates dealing with them.

maybe because they come from the desert, where it's hot, and they don't get enough fresh fruits and vegetables---maybe that fucks up their minds.

there is a reason the world calls them dune coons and ragheads. there is a reason for all stereotypes.

there is a reason a culture needs a fucking dictator.

tony286 05-17-2007 07:34 PM

what pisses me off is when politicians talk about cutting and running and no retreat and its not their blood or even their families blood. Its some poor working class kid trying to get money college.

Basically stems from the Iraq excursion being irrelevant and generated thru greed while many thousands have suffered, will be screwed for life or dead.

The extent of this damage is huge, - in Iraq as a country, the people in Iraq, US military and for the US as a country.

The damage includes extensive contamination of Iraq by DU, people will die from that for many decades to come and at a level which makes the current death rate appear as a grain of sand.

The people of Iraq have suffered more than anyone and continue to suffer daily. Approx 4500 children under the age of five are dying every month from hunger and disease - forgetting those killed. There is no effective medical aid to handle the levels of casualties - they die.

On the US side, the same effects of DU will/are taking the toll on US troops and will do for decades. Tho minor in relation to the deaths, the US economy has been screwed - and will continue to be screwed for, who knows, another five years minimum?

This was a perceived "war" instigated by the idiot brain dead and clueless - no penalty against the initiators would be too great, but that would still not be any level of justice for the Iraqi people or those in the US.

And, yes, the French were right - along with the majority of the world who elected not to get involved with a lump of human waste and his ambitions to have a war in Iraq.

borked 05-19-2007 01:37 PM

Why does it have to be that the French were right? Just because the French piss the Americans off so much?

It was the United Nations Security Council that had said no to an invasion, not France.

A little reminder of what happened

Yeup, I recon there's more than a grain of truth in your opinions here latinsojourn. Throw in a good pinch of religious bullshit into the whole Iraq/middle east cauldron and you've got yourself a brew down there that will probably stink & fester till doomsday.

The thing that pisses me off the most is that Americans are not unanimously united with our President and our troops.

In my book it is treason.

dig420 05-19-2007 02:16 PM

mostly just that people are dying for absolutely no reason whatsoever.

I was never brainwashed into hating the French in the first place, that's just idiotic.

In my book warrantless spying, going to war without an act of congress and suspending habeas corpus is treason. So is trying to make a King out of a President.

The "President" is a lump of garbage who has caused far more damage to the US than even your favorite flavor of "terrorists" could do - surprised he's even still walking and not in a jail cell.

Sure... it's treason in all democracies not to be united :1orglaugh Not being united behind a total asshole never was treason - nor was totally opposing him treason, - but you'd never know that. You are just too stupid.

Boy some people just can't help themselves. This thread was sort of a joke ya know?

I was thinking about it because the other day my son heard the term "freedom fries" and wanted to know what it meant, so I explained to him how most people in the U.S. were mad at the French because they were trying to keep us from going to war with Iraq, so people started using the term freedom fries instead of french fries because we wanted nothing to do with anything french.

Then of course I explained to him that the French were right in the first place and that we shouldn't have invaded Iraq, and that the restaurant owners who still had "freedom fries" on their menu were either too broke to get new menus printed or were total idiots.

I think that what bugs me the most is that we're sending BILLIONS and BILLIONS of dollars over there to keep fighting the war, while it seems like every other week in the local newspaper, there's articles of cuts in schooling, food programs, organizations like arts, and in township operations, just to name a few.

It's getting rediculas. I don't see why we're sooooo quick to send BILLIONS or dollars overseas while we're cutting EVERYTHING on our own land.
