Here's a great solution to the illegal immigration problem
It would never happen though because it makes too much sense.
In a nutshell, anyone from a 3rd world country who wants to move to the U.S. can, BUT first they have to enlist in the Army for 4 years. (Of course we're talking about people with no criminal backgrounds or ties to terrorist organizations) Once they've honorably served their 4 years they will be granted permanent residency status, and while serving they will receive all of the pay and benefits that come with military service. If you're already here illegally, you can enlist or be deported, your choice. People say it's too expensive to round up all the illegals and send them back, but with our new influx of draftees that can wash clothes, cook meals, etc etc we can fire Halliburton and use the money we save from that to pay the costs of finding and deporting the illegals. This would solve the immigration problem AND the problem of our military being overextended and overburdened. :2 cents: |
ummmmm no.
|
i dont want some pissed off mexican getting ahold of our weapons. nope, zilch, nada.
|
Would you like to buy some oranges?

They wouldn't be pissed off, they'd be paying the price to secure a better future for their family. Plus the pay and benefits they'd receive would be like a king's ransom compared to what they're getting in Mexico. |
personally i think everyone should have to go through conscription if thats the right word.
Look at switzerland - a model country. |
i dont think the government will be ok with filling the army with people who dont give a shit about the country because its not theirs

we want a army of mexican peasants and you never ran for political office surprising lol. Throw the employers in jail and make a big show of it. No work no come to usa. Now dont bitch when you got to pay 10 dollars for a head of lettuce because they will have to pay an american a decent wage to do it.

If you doubled the wage of all farm workers it would cost the average American $10 a YEAR more at the grocery store. |

We've only had an all volunteer military since the 80's, it's a very new phenomenon. All armies throughout history have been filled with conscripts, debtors, criminals etc. Ever heard the phrase "join the army or go to jail?" |

The whole wage vs prices thing is a myth, a myth created by people who don't want minimum wage increased and people who don't want to deal with labor unions. Prices are set by the market, supply and demand and how much your competition is charging for comparable products are the main factors that determine price. Increasing wages cuts into profit margins, it's only inflationary in extreme cases. |

FWIW I got that number from a PBS or Frontline special I was watching on the subject. so NAH :winkwink: |
I don't think Mexicans would go for that. They have no alliance with the US. They are here to make money only, hoping all the while that conditions improve in Mexico so they can one day return home.
US immigration policy is not broken just because countless 3rd world citizens are upset they can't get in. The real solution is for the US to help Mexico build it's own economy. Look at what is happening in China and India. Mexico has a very similar workforce, yet nothing is happening down there. |
ROFL... Jesus fucking christ, you'd practically be arming a FOREIGN ARMY in the process then inviting them within your borders. You'd have to have one helluva quota on how many you let in the army otherwise you'd be fucked if they decided to have a little march towards D.C. and install their own president.
|
would be interesting however, illegals that are caught are given that option, wouldn't make it forced, but I believe you do get pay during your service correct?
then you could become a resident with streamlined citizenship process? Would be a cool alternative for people denied entry visas etc aswell, even if for example, in some levels of services, older women for example could serve as a the laundry / cooking / medical side of military bases etc. some trial solutions would be better than the old catch and release we've been doing for years. |
first year we could get them to a high school education level, then we can spend the next year training them. This wouldn't work. Just round them up and ship them back to their country of origin

What, you think all soldiers and marines get their own M-16's and grenade launchers to take home? :1orglaugh The scenario you describe would never happen. |
id like to see mandatory service for everyone
one year or something when everyone turns 18..or after you finish college basic training and a slap in the face will do everyone some good |
wow, that's a horrible idea, most of them would probably being killing US soldiers in battle and shit

Are they shipping these people off without weapons? Are they, or aren't they, going to have access to weapons of all sorts? If yes, then won't these same people have access to aircraft carriers, tanks, jets, and the like? Won?t these same people have a way to get back to the states with these machines of war which they have been handed on a silver platter by us? Al Qaeda managed to cripple America with box cutters. You're telling me that a well trained foreign army isn't going to be able to devastate us? |
Hey while you guys are at it, why not outsource the government to India or something... I am sure they can do it cheaper.
|
how are you going to ship back like 7 million people ? Thats not including all the kids they had in this country.

Yeah we're going to let the Mexican privates have their own aircraft carriers and jets :1orglaugh :1orglaugh :1orglaugh Does your mom know you stay up past your bedtime posting on GFY? |
why not let the Mexican government do their job and find work for its people.
why does the United States have to support them? |

You are right; prices would go through the roof where they should be. We have been living under a false economy caused by this worthless government for years and sooner or later it is going to bite us all in the ass. Sending illegal immigrants into the military is a good thing and I have been saying this for years. Why should our troops die to give these people safe haven. If they love this country so much, then it?s time to prove it!!!! We also need to start fining companies very heavy, say 50,000 and if your company is caught a second time hiring illegal immigrants, you lose your company all assets and you will never be able to own/operate a business in this country again...take the jobs away and they will leave?. I personally am sick and tired of paying the way for these fucking illegals. It is time to cut off all aid, free medical, free schooling and anything else they seem to think they deserve. They do not deserve shit!!!!! It really doesn?t matter what is said or proposed. This filthy fucking US government has sold us all down the river. John McCain has sold the state of Arizona down the river. I personally consider him a traitor and he is no fucking war hero either. I guess you know my vote will go for someone else. The sooner we lose this moron Bush and any others that don?t give a fuck about securing the nation, the better off we will all be. |

Let me get this straight, you want us to heavily arm and give millions of dollars of the best military training to people who don't have enough of what it takes to make their own country great? Heavily arm and train the enemy? That's about as much help as wearing the wrong pair of drawers during a fart lightin' contest. |

First of all, Mexico and Mexicans living in America are not our enemy. Second of all, how exactly are we arming them? It's obvious the people saying stupid shit like this have never been in the military. Weapons don't leave the base, period. You think I'm kidding? Try entering or leaving a military base with a firearm. Then write me from Leavenworth and let me know how it went. Training? Maybe, if you consider boot camp training, but since alot of them don't speak english the vast majority of them would be in support jobs like washing clothes, cooking food, repairing barracks and equipment etc. Those of you that think this could somehow lead to a coup or some other nonsense are delusional. |

There are laws in this country; they have broken the law, plain and simple. I have no problem with immigrants coming into this country legally and when they come they need to be able to support themselves. Everyone is intitled to their opinion, if you don't like mine, fine :winkwink: You are so full of yourself :321GFY |

You've lost your fucking mind. Yes those in combat will get M-16's and grenades and all that other shit, but they won't be able to bring those weapons back to the continental U.S. with them when their tour is over dipshit. A force of Mexicans who volunteer for service in order to earn citizenship is 100 times less likely to mutiny than say the poor black kids who got drafted during Vietnam. I don't recall our government being overthrown back then. IDIOT :321GFY |
