How I Got Into Porn...
No this is not my Summer essay... lol. I just was wondering today how many of my fellow pornsters here got into the biz to fund something else entirely?
For me it was the idea of putting together an indie record label. By the time I had the money I needed to do it right, I had discovered the record business was 20 times as ruthless and filled with many more uncool people than what I was already in so I figured I'd just keep making tunes for fun and keep the my business life on the net. What about ya'll? - ps... If you're brave enough to hear my silly ass sing, it's all at http://www.spirit53.com. Some serious hair music there! |
I started when I was 13 years old reading everything I could find about the business, which wasn't much. I would make a few bucks here and there. Most kids running around playing nintendo and playing tag, i was checking my pornsite stats. Can't remember which sponsor I first started using, xpics, or something. You older folks would know. It was X-something....

Xpics. I remember that...
I forgot to mention that it became a business by accident though. I did a free site just because I was surfing around and thought I could make one that looked nicer than most of what I saw. A couple weeks later I was invited into the new at the time YNOT Network... a couple weeks afterthat I'm taking home HUGE checks from Cyberotica. My head was spinning =] And before that... I was that guy in high school who got the porno tapes for everyone. => |
I started out with mainstream sites in the days of $20 CPM, e-enabled cyber vortals and free shipping... when that went south I switched over to the dark side.

I wasn't joking when I said I started in '97 or '96 :winkwink: |
The idea of working from home, and someday being able to travel around the world and still work while travelling.
And plus no college degree so couldn't get past any of the HR bitches in the corporate world even with a good past work history and great references. The last straw was when I sat down with a financial planner and having him look at my numbers and tell me that I would be a retired by age 67. Sounded like a death sentence to me. I'm 28 now and if I could retire before 50 I'm happy. Even better if it's sooner. |
