Good banks that don't object to adult

I'm aware of the horror stories of Bank of America shutting down adult . . .

Anybody have recommendations for a good bank that welcomes adult and had good online business banking products and services?

LiveDose 05-17-2007 12:36 AM

I think it may even vary by branch. Some checks we get are issued through BA accounts.

Digipimp 05-17-2007 12:37 AM

i havent had a problem with capital one yet, but who knows

JP513 05-17-2007 01:04 AM

Digipimp, do u do most or all of your business banking through Capital One?

U have a company or sole prop?

Digipimp 05-17-2007 01:15 AM

just personal on a sole prop, i used bank one before for business banking and didnt have a problem with them either. personally im wanting to try ing direct when they add their biz banking soon.

baddog 05-17-2007 01:19 AM

Why would you tell them you are in adult?

aico 05-17-2007 01:20 AM

Incorporate and make a non-adult name, don't tell them what you do. Problem solved.

Totally correct aico :thumbsup

The only person who needs to know your biz is you - banks are only a service industry and unless ya want to borrow form them, - it's none of their biz :pimp

PS And *always* have more than one bank tucked away... it's just basic biz sense..

Yeah a Dutch company should be cool with adult. How soon is this gonna happen?

I did exactly that once and they did a review of my account and tracked down incoming wires, found ccbill, figured out what that was and guess what... ACCOUNT CLOSED.

DWB 05-17-2007 02:27 AM

As you know JP, I also use CHASE for one of my USA accounts. No probs with them at all, but I think you are ass out based on your location. :-(

I wouldnt put it in those terms, but all banks seems to want ot know the nature of the business before opening the account. "Internet marketing" is one I gave. Maybe it should be marketing.

Right, hence the nature of this thread. DWB's point is a good one. What bank would NOT close my account down or give me shit if they discover what CCbill is?

sicone 05-17-2007 02:31 AM

I have a credit union and have never had a problem

Setting up shop in KY is a pain in the ass all to be able to bank with Chase, and while the option remains on the table, as I have already enrolled pending my DBA registration there, but before I go through with it I want to have looked at alternatives more palatable for my VA location.

Damned banks - they need to mind their own biz and stop checking your underwear :winkwink:

Seriously... never ever had any problems with banks. Smells like a US thing possibly?

ING in Belgium didn't want to cash my checks anymore.
I never said anything about it being money from adult stuff, just internet ... but its not that hard to trace it by the company names on the check (well some of them)
Probably a jealous teller or bank-manager who wanted to know what I did to make money online and found out it's from adult.

lol thats true. Must be some hillbilly local policies.

gornyhuy 05-17-2007 06:28 AM

Its a legal business. If they want to close your account, I say sue their asses for discrimination.

Dirty Dane 05-17-2007 06:29 AM

I don't get why your bank should care, as long its legal biz. Freedom, huh?

The Heron 05-17-2007 07:31 AM

I like nationalcity, not as big as ones mentioned but good service

Tom_PM 05-17-2007 07:44 AM

I've never had a problem with HSBC.

stev0 05-17-2007 09:38 AM

How is it any of their business what you do?

gornyhuy 05-17-2007 09:51 AM

Chevy Chase Bank, btw. No problems in 5 years.

I use BofA with more accounts than I can keep track of. Internet Marketing is the game, and they love it.

Pretty sure there is more to DWB's story. Like, why did they investigate, and did they say, "it is because you are in adult?" Or was that just a guess?

Good idea in theory, but it's more trouble--and more exposure--than it's worth!

JP513 05-19-2007 02:29 AM

Some credit unions offer business checking

Arizona Federal Credit Union which I belong to offers business checking. They actually have started marketing to local corporations within the past couple of months but they have offered corporate banking since I joined them in 2001.

I have no problems with BoA at all. Many US based adult sponsors pay by BoA checks like CCBill does and I never got any strange questions from my branch when cashing their checks.

Did you ever try Wachovia. They are pretty good in investments for a US bank :-)
